A maple poplar tree in Haikou Village, Beilun, Ningbo has become an internet celebrity. The reservoir outside the village has beautiful scenery and is suitable for camping.

There is a village on the bank of Xiangshan Bay in Ningbo City. It was rated as a 3A-level scenic village in Zhejiang Province in 2021. It is said that there is an endless stream of people coming here to travel, visit and study. This village is located in Chunxiao Street, Beilun District, and is called Haikoushe. What kind of scenery does it have? Is it attractive? I went there specially to visit and found that it was very different from what people imagined.

The name Haikoushe is very special. At first glance, it seems that it is a Japanese name or has some connection with Hainan Island. In fact, it is a natural village under the jurisdiction of Hai'ao Village and has a very long history. If you come here to visit, you will hardly see the word "Haikou". The ancient lintels of the cottages are all hung with the sea-blue house number of "Wang Family".

Why is this happening? Because this place was called Wang Family in history, it was changed to "Haikou Society" in recent years. Most of the ancient villages in the Chunxiao Street area of ??Beilun are like this. They originally had a very historical name, but were changed to a very modern name. The changes are somewhat nondescript and have no cultural heritage. Many ancient villages have "disappeared" inexplicably.

The surname Wang is one of the most common surnames in China and has the second largest population in China. The ancestors with the surname Wang, whose original surname was Ji, were descendants of Bi Gonggao, the concubine of King Wen of Zhou Dynasty. They originally lived in Xianyang. After the Qin and Han Dynasties, they began to migrate from northwest to southeast and other places, forming a situation where the surname Wang was spread all over the world. There is no specific record of the year when the Wang family of Haikou She was founded, but according to genealogy records, it should be that the Wang family of Dayan moved here.

The Beilun Sea Line, known as the most beautiful scenery, passes in front of Haikou Village, separated by a long stream. To be honest, the most beautiful section of the sea is in the Beilun Forest Park area. It is ordinary at best. However, the stream here has been intercepted in several sections and several overflow gates have been built. The stream water falls down to form a shallow waterfall, which is also very beautiful.

The most famous scenery of the Wang family is an ancient maple and poplar tree on the roadside. This maple poplar tree is not very old, only 140 years old, but its trunk is divided into two branches not far from the ground, like a "V". The two separate branches spread out to form more branches, with lush branches and leaves, forming a dense shade and becoming a landscape. Many villagers would sit under this maple tree to enjoy the shade or chat when they had nothing to do.

To the south of this maple poplar tree is the Wang Family Ancestral Hall, and to the north is a restaurant, known as the "Restaurant under the Big Tree". The Wang Family Ancestral Hall was first built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and was named "Libentang". It was mostly damaged during the period. In recent years, it has been repaired and converted into a cultural auditorium, which has become a scenery in Haikou Village.

Dashuxia Restaurant is a mom-and-pop shop. The store is not very big, similar to an ordinary fast food restaurant, but it is famous far and wide. Its popularity even overshadows the Wang Family Ancestral Hall, which is just a few steps away. It is said that many people come here just to have a good meal at this restaurant, which shows its popularity and popularity.

The cottages in Haikou Village are very clean. There are many buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as many modern houses. From a tourism point of view, this place is very average, there is nothing particularly outstanding, and it is not as beautiful as people describe.

There is a road in Haikou Village. Walking along it to the north is Shangheng Village. After passing through Shangheng Village and walking along the road, there is a reservoir at the end - Xuanhuayan Reservoir. I always feel that this name has a sense of history and makes people think it has a story. In fact, it was built in 1956, less than a century ago.

Xuanhuayan Reservoir is surrounded by mountains on three sides, but the view is very broad. There is a flower field on the shore, and there are terraced fields in the mountains in the distance. The embankment by the water is not high and is relatively close to the water. Many places can be used as Viewing platform. The scenery around the reservoir is tranquil and natural, and the environment is quiet. It is a good place to play and camp.

There is a gate at the end of the dam of the reservoir. The lake water flows through the cracks in the rocks and falls down to form a waterfall.

This waterfall is not as majestic as "flying down three thousand feet", and is even a bit gentle, but behind the waterfall are sharp-edged rocks and lush vegetation, and below the waterfall is a clear pool, which makes it a beautiful scenery.

For tourists who like camping, setting up camp here is a very good choice. Here you can not only enjoy the scenery of lakes and mountains, clear ponds and shallow waterfalls, but also enjoy the quiet rural life. The travel experience is no worse than those of popular internet celebrity campsites.
