Weishan Lake Lotus Festival: Weishan Lake is the largest freshwater lake in northern China, located in Weishan County, Jining City, Shandong Province, with the largest natural lotus pond in Asia100000 mu. Every year in May 5- 10/0, 100000 mu of lotus strive to open. Green lotus leaves, red and white lotus flowers, clear lakes and long clouds are refreshing. In order to fully tap the local historical and cultural heritage, make use of the beautiful ecological environment, and attract more people to visit and invest in Weishan, the Weishan County Party Committee and the government hold the Weishan Lake Lotus Festival in July and August when the lotus blooms every year. Focusing on the principle of "taking Holland as the medium, cultural tourism as the platform, singing opera in economy and trade and promoting development", we will highlight the theme of "ecology, harmony and development", realize the interaction between economy and culture, and build a good platform for publicizing Weishan, developing tourism, expanding opening up and scientific development. Since 1994, the Lotus Festival has been successfully held for 16 sessions. Weishan Lake takes Weishan Lake's rich tourism resources as the medium, and takes the theme of "Charming Weishan Lake, Meeting the Dutch Capital" as the focus, showing the achievements of Weishan's economic and social development and a good investment and entrepreneurial environment, further promoting the leap-forward development of its economy and society, and striving to create a new image of Weishan with prosperity, ecological civilization and social harmony.

During the Lotus Festival, Weishan County held cultural activities such as large-scale cultural performances full of lake customs, folk tourism performances with unique regional characteristics, photography exhibitions, photo exhibitions and industrial development achievements exhibitions of Weishan Lake, and also held activities such as project promotion and counterpart economic and trade talks with the help of the Netherlands, which showed Weishan's excellent natural environment, human environment and investment environment, created a new image of Weishan Mountain with charm, ecology and harmony, and carried out activities to enjoy the lake and lotus. A comprehensive literary evening of the Lotus Festival was held. Guests from all over the country, including travel agency leaders and news media reporters, collectively visited the Flying Tigers Memorial Park, Weizi Tomb and Weishan Lake Cultural Park by bus, then went to Weishan Island Pier, changed to a cruise ship to visit Weishan Lake Lotus Garden westward along Shuidao River, watched fishermen's weddings, osprey performances and fishermen's production scenes, and went to Tanghu Pier along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Take a bus to Ai Hu Tourist Wharf, take a boat south along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, visit the Guanhuatai wetland and reed maze, enjoy the lakes and mountains on both sides of the canal, arrive at Fisherman's Water Street in Weishan Lake to have Chinese food, have a fish feast and experience the life of fishermen, and then take a boat to Hu Wei Wharf. During the Lotus Festival, foreign businessmen are also invited to hold counterpart economic and trade talks with local enterprises.

Weishan Lake is endowed with unique tourism resources, vast waters, dotted with green islands and beautiful scenery. It is the first batch of natural scenic spots in Shandong Province and has been approved as a provincial-level ecological function protection zone and a national ecological demonstration zone construction pilot county. Every summer and autumn, hundreds of thousands of acres of lotus flowers bloom one after another, forming a beautiful and spectacular natural picture scroll, which is known as "the Dutch capital of China, the northern water town and the hometown of the Flying Tigers".
