On the Trend of China's Film and Television Criticism

Mainly from my personal point of view, I have a little view on China's film and television reviews at present, and some are where I think China's future film and television reviews should go.

It can be said that there are many problems in China film and television. Only a few movies we watch every year are made in China, and most of them are foreign. Why is this? There may still be a gap between our film technology and the West, and there are also some problems in our system. Is there no other reason? I don't think so. There are many other reasons! Among them, unhealthy film and television reviews are one reason. I don't know if it is appropriate for me to use unhealthy words to describe my current film and television reviews, but it is understandable that there are problems in China's current film and television reviews, and it is also understandable that they have a bad influence on the development of China's film and television, at least from my personal point of view.

Not long ago, a set of figures came from the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television. Since 2003, 320 films have been produced in China, only 100 films have been shown on a large scale, and the remaining 200 films have quietly disappeared. According to the investment of 2 million yuan per movie, at least 400 million yuan, accounting for about 80% of the box office of domestic movies in the same period. According to statistics, from 2000 to 2004, China imported 4,332 films, but only a handful of them were exported. In addition, China's annual investment in TV drama production adds up to about 6 billion yuan, but only 2 billion yuan can be recovered from the market, with a loss of 4 billion yuan a year. I think some of these places are related to the quality of some films, while others have no quality problems. Why aren't they shown in the cinema? This is because some people think highly of them. Before these films were made, people had written their comments on them, and in most cases, they were violently attacked and attacked, which was meaningless. Some people in China listen to these people. Do you think they will have a future in China market? Certainly not, so these films can only lie there quietly. When people stumble upon them one day, they will find that they are much better than the so-called blockbusters they see, because some movies can win international attention. What a pity!

China's film and television market attracts film makers from all over the world. We have also witnessed the strength of "American film stream" and "Korean film stream", and many of our markets have been occupied by others. At present, domestic film and television can barely support in the domestic market. With the further improvement of openness, China people's appreciation taste is further improved. If we don't find ways to improve our film and television competitiveness, regardless of the gap, whether we can make ends meet is still a problem. A big reason why our film and television industry can't compete is that we leave those so-called blockbusters in the market, which are actually very bad, while those really good films stay there. What does this mean? It shows that many non-objective or unhealthy film and television comments mislead the audience, so that the audience can't see the really better film and television, and they are disappointed after watching the so-called blockbuster, thus turning to foreign films, resulting in a phenomenon similar to "the beauty of film and television". What a worry! If we all watch movies from the United States or other countries instead of China, what will happen to our thinking? I think our thoughts will be gradually assimilated by western thoughts, and the consequences will be unimaginable. That sounds horrific. Let's improve the competitiveness of China film and television industry together!

Online comments on the TV series Qin Shihuang said that there were too many love scenes, such as Zhao Ji, Qin Shihuang's mother, and Aro, played by Fan Bingbing, having sex with her. In this regard, director Yan Jiangang said: "Qin Shihuang was the first emperor in the history of China, and there were at least dozens of concubines in his harem. I'm not filming a documentary about Qin Shihuang. Without women, it is definitely not good-looking and no one is watching. " Over the years, China's film and television industry has been caught between two sides, with poor audience evaluation and complaints from the competent authorities. There are so few excellent films and TV shows in China that people can't help but watch, sigh, lament and suffocate in despair. The reason is that some people point the finger at strict control and bad ecology, which is generally reasonable, so the well-meaning directors won a burst of sympathy, and domestic directors seem to feel at ease. They no longer pretend to be heroes against the system and power, but confidently find a perfect excuse for their fall. The more you degenerate, the happier you are, the more you take the initiative to dwarf yourself, and even become a dwarf and complacent, so that you go further and further on the road of loving beauty and scarring. This is a disappointing and extremely sad news. Yan Jiangang, the director of Qin Shihuang, had a heartbreaking courage, no matter what he said or what he said from the heart. "I'm not making a documentary about Qin Shihuang. The play is definitely not good without women. No one is watching. " This seemingly solemn announcement made the author shudder, but he couldn't help laughing at Yan Dao's values. There are many directors who talk about love, but they are naked and don't avoid suspicion. Yan Dao may be the first one. Other directors just did it silently. Yan Dao not only did it, but also said it with great fanfare. It was really fierce. It should be said that Director Yan's words are experienced. He is so righteous. He is proficient in audience psychology. He has mastered the operation law of the whole social atmosphere. The most important thing is that he understands the hidden rules of the film and television industry. He knows how to catch the audience's eyes, and so do many other directors. In a word, Yan Dao is too smart, to paraphrase a sentence from the Spring Festival Evening, "You are too talented". However, you talented directors have harmed the audience, especially the children! You said that children don't know anything. How will you react after watching your wonderful lens? Anyway, everyone knows that puppy love can explain everything now. Why do you think this is? Not to say that China is not open enough? So the film critics wrote an article calling on the great directors to learn from the west, but these great directors didn't learn anything else. They learned all the love in western movies and they were fine at home. Even the eight-minute performance of the Athens Olympic Games was spared. That was the first time we saw the ultra-short cheongsam I made those girls wear. I'm afraid that's also a way to cater to westerners, and so is the last kiss of the little girl! Why, we have a modern China, but wouldn't that be a bit embarrassing? We can simply show the culture of China to the people of the world. I think the effect will be better, at least our people will not feel uncomfortable.

I think there is still a problem with China's film criticism, that is, movies made by big directors are good movies, and movies made by big stars are good movies; The films made by those small directors or unknown directors are not good movies, and those without big stars are not good movies. And in fact? At present, many great directors don't know what movies are being made, and I don't know how to comment. In short, it makes people feel that they haven't seen it, don't know what they have seen, and don't want to see it again. What's more, some people lose confidence in some great directors after one time, and never want to see any films he wants to make again, no matter how he promotes them in the early stage. Alas! That's not good, not only for the big director, but also for the university experts who love to comment! Didn't they say that the film made by the great director was very good? Why the audience will be so disappointed after reading it. For example, the audience really didn't know what they saw after reading "The Promise", and said that they would sprint for the Oscar, which was simply a dream. There is also the movie "Golden Flower in the City". The audience didn't even know what they saw. They said it was a copy of Thunderstorm. I always thought it was impossible to be associated with thunderstorms, because I felt disgusting. Sadly, this is simply a great sorrow for our film and television critics in China!

Finally, I'd like to give some personal suggestions to our country's future film critics, and as a China person, I'd like to ask some basic requirements for film critics!

First, I hope that when you comment on a movie, you must seek truth from facts, based on one fact, and don't be superstitious about the great director. Sometimes the films made by small directors are also very good, so we should not ignore them. That would be a pity.

Secondly, I hope you will not judge China's movies and TV series by western standards. We want to learn some advanced things from the west, but China has its own characteristics. Why do we all have to learn from others? Why don't we do well and let others learn from us?
