Water lily is called "sleeping beauty in flowers" because it has comfortable curly hair at night. Water lilies are widely used, such as edible, tea, cut flowers, medicine and so on. Water lily is the most widely distributed genus in Nymphaeaceae, which is distributed all over the world except Antarctica.

Water lilies can also be sown and propagated, that is, they are transferred into water after flowering, and the flowers are wrapped with gauze before the fruit matures, so that the seeds fall into the bag after the fruit is broken. After the seeds are harvested, they must still be stored in water. If stored dry, they will lose their ability to germinate.

Sowing should be carried out in March-April, and the soil should be fertile clay loam, which should not be over-filled, 5-6 cm away from the mouth of the basin. After sowing, cover it with 1cm soil, flatten it, and immerse it in water. The water surface is 3-4 cm higher than the pot soil. Cover the basin soil with glass and put it in a sunny and warm place to increase the temperature in the basin. The suitable sowing temperature is 25-30℃. After about half a month of germination, it can bloom in the second year.
