How to use ps to make colorful fusion characters interspersed in flowers

First, find a bunch of flowers you like.

Step 0 1

It's not that easy to find the leading role. If you happen to have a bunch of flowers on hand, that would be great. If not, you need to look for them in thousands of galleries. Because you want to embed text, you'd better find something easy.

Embedded bouquet with white background, so it is easy to separate the flowers from the background. Secondly, it's best to put all your bouquets in the mirror so that you don't have to be disturbed by the edge. Of course, it is even more important if you have a special composition idea.

All right. But the way we share today is to put the bouquet in the center of the picture.

In these four photos, I chose the bouquet that suits me. The other three flowers have good shapes, but the background is not ideal.

Step 02

Separate the flowers from the background. After observation, it is found that this cluster of flowers can not be handled by ordinary selection tools or pen tools, and channels need to be used. For a tutorial, see: From Novice to Height.

Hands! PHOTOSHOP matting all-around strategy. I think I try to save pen and ink when I talk about the operation of background removal. This is a very flexible way. You can open your heart and don't be bound by the methods I provide.

I slowly process the final details and background with a hand-drawn board, which may be relatively time-consuming, but it is similar to my respect for the principle of "slow work and fine work". In my opinion, the overall effect will be brilliant only if the details are exquisite.

Second, the text arrangement

Step 03

Open PS and create a new document with the size of 3000px*3000px. After the background is filled with white, drag the flowers you saved as a transparent background into it and put them in the middle.

Step 04

The flower looks a little dim on a white background, and I use curves to improve its brightness; At the same time, it also uses color balance to increase its warm color; Finally, I used a gradient map to make its color transition more natural.

Step 05

The font I use here is Robort Bold, and the lines of this font are very smooth, which is more suitable for the modeling requirements here. The font size is 450px, where each letter becomes a layer independently, and you can arrange their positions relatively freely.

The color of the font is slightly yellowish green. My suggestion is that fonts must be distinguished from flowers, and bold use of contrast colors is also good. It is also in line with the theme of my English Spring.

At the same time, I added a rectangular border around the text to increase the visual weight of the text and focus on the text.

Step 06

The text and border layers are arranged in a group, and then the layer that copies the flowers is placed on the top. The text group is sandwiched between two flower layers, just like a sandwich biscuit. Add a mask on the top flower layer.

Both the board and the mask are filled with black, which means that the mask at this time can hardly play any shielding role. So from the appearance, nothing has changed. In fact, we can see that we made a big key in the layers panel.

The whole.

Thirdly, the occlusion relation is generated.

Due to the powerful role of real experience, our vision completely believes that there is a depth relationship between two occluded objects, which will make the plane space more three-dimensional. Taking advantage of this feature, we use flowers to block part of the text to express the three-dimensional sense. All this happens on the same plane, but our vision will bring more possibilities.

On the top flower layer, we added a black mask. This means that this layer is not actually displayed, it is completely blocked by the black mask. If you brush it with a white brush, you can

Draw the part you want it to show. I believe everyone understands this truth. Using this relationship, we can "draw" the flowers displayed in front of the text, because we want the text to be "embedded" in the flowers.

These branches and leaves can easily achieve the shielding effect without too many small details.

Step 07

In order to see the occlusion relationship between the two layers, we slightly reduced the transparency of the text. Starting with the letter "S" and enlarging the details, I drew three parts with a white brush, revealing the flowers on S. Remember, the white brush was painted on the black mask of the top flower layer.

Treat other letters and borders in the same way. You should be patient with every pixel, so that the effect will not be chaotic. Keep the letters clear when daubing. When finished, restore the transparency of the text to normal.

Fourth, create shadows.

The way to increase the sense of space is to increase the shadow. Adding shadows in this case is slightly different from other cases, so you can't directly use the layer projection style.

Step 08

Let's first create a new text group above the layer. This layer is used as a shadow layer. Of course, it is blank at present. Shadows are projections left on the text after blocking each other, so they must be kept above the text.

The blocked part has been shown by you in the mask of the top flower layer with a white brush. At this time, you just need to hold down the Ctrl key and click to select these selections, then go back to the shadow layer and fill the selections with black.

Step 09

Apply Gaussian blur filter to this shadow layer and enter Filter >; Fuzzy >; Gaussian blur with radius of 8.

Step 10

After blurring, we can see that although the text has projection performance, there are also black fuzzy marks on the flowers, which must be removed. We use the simplest method, add a mask to the shadow, and wipe off the "abnormal" shadow part on the flower with a black brush.

Step 1 1

After all the details of the projection are processed, the layer mode of the shadow layer is changed to "positive overlay", and the transparency is reduced to 40%.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) sublimation of details

Step 12

The rest is the beautification of the details. At this time, we can add a projection to the flower itself. Select the layer of the flower, hold down Ctrl and click the layer, and then the selection on the edge of the flower appears. In the previous step.

The shadow is made in the same way, and Gaussian blur is also used to make the projection effect. The blur radius of Gaussian blur is 5, and then the shadow position moves slightly to the upper left corner. Reduce the transparency of the flower shadow layer to 10%.

Step 13

In order to add a little texture, you can add "inner shadow" and "pattern overlay" to the text and frame, in which a very subtle texture is added to the pattern overlay, called "watercolor paper", if any.

Step 14

Merge all layers into one layer and copy to the latest layer. The shortcut key is "Alt+Ctrl+Shift+E" Rename this layer as "Filter 1" and right-click it to make it a smart object.

Adjust the blending mode of the layer to Soft Light and set the transparency to 20%. When finished, copy this filter 1 to a new layer. The newly copied layer was renamed as Filter 2 and the transparency was set to 30%.

The final effect:

For a long time, the postscript seemed to be a piece of nonsense. In fact, I hope to leave more information for this tutorial, which is also a little thinking after learning. The protagonist here can turn flowers into trees, clouds and so on.

However, scenery can produce the same effect. If these landscapes are hand-painted, I believe it is another atmosphere. Each of our tutorials strives to learn from one practice and obtain the overall acquisition of methods and skills, rather than being rigid.

The impression of the hard course itself. But on the whole, there is no problem. The more you practice, the more you will gain.
