Plate-making steps of woodcut prints

Preparation materials: wax, ink, carving knife, wood board, printing paper.

1, draw the color in advance, so as to distinguish where it is engraved and where it is not, and modify the draft.

2. Round knives carve thick lines, triangular knives carve thin lines, and flat knives and oblique knives are responsible for large areas.

3. On the engraved prints, fully roll the ink evenly.

4. Ink, and observe whether the ink is uniform from the side.

5. Unfold the printing paper, press and fix it.

6. Compaction. Compaction slowly and forcefully.

7. Finally, pick it up from the woodcut.
