Stone arch

In history, there were eight archways inside and outside the four gates of Qingyan Ancient City, and only three of them have been preserved, namely "Zhou's daughter-in-law Liu Jiexiao Square" outside the south gate, "Zhao Square" inside the south gate and "Zhao Square" outside the north gate. The architectural shapes of the three archways are basically the same, with four columns, three rooms, four roofs and three floors. They are 9.5 meters high and 9 meters wide, facing south, belonging to the architectural style of stone archway in Qing Dynasty. Surprisingly, the three archways have no foundation slots, and they stand directly on the ground by four rectangular pillars, standing upright for more than 100 years. Among them, "Zhao Baishou Square" is only a few steps away from Dingguangmen, and its originality is unique. It is praised as "a rare masterpiece of art" by Liu Haisu, the master of art, and the three stone archways have also become the love of photographers.

alley

Backstreet is the most distinctive stone lane in Qingyan. After hundreds of years of scouring and sharpening, the bluestone slabs on the pavement have been shining like mirrors, bringing a unique sense of time and space and mystery to the streets and lanes. On both sides of the street are layers of stone walls, and the roads are narrow and quiet, undulating along the mountains, which is an excellent photography location. Backstreet is also a place where scenic spots are concentrated.

Zhuangyuanfu

Zhuangyuan House, the former residence of Zhao Yijiong, the first literati in Guizhou, is located at Zhuangyuan Street 1, where it meets North Street, and the section near the south is called "Xia Yuan Street". It is easy to find road signs on the main road of North Street. In front of the courtyard is a simple couplet, "Qin and Park Chi, the Analects of Confucius is a family heirloom", which expresses the owner's lifelong wish. The mansion sits south facing north, which is a courtyard with two entrances. The mansion sits south facing north, which is a courtyard with two entrances, both of which are a front and a hatchback. The style is mountain-leaning, with a total area of about 700 square meters. The existing front hall, main hall, hatchback and facing door have many different characters of "shou" on the inner wall of facing door, which is said to have been left by Zhao Jiong's great-great grandfather when he was 100 years old. The building is dominated by wood structure, which is magnificent and unobtrusive, quiet and serene, and quite scholarly.

wenchangge

Wenchang Pavilion is located at No.0/43 East Street, covering an area of over 800 square meters. Built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt in the Qianlong period, brick and wood structure, built on the mountain, is an octagonal building with one corner. This is a place where scholars in the past studied, gathered and worshipped the emperor Wenchang.

ciyun temple

Ciyun Temple is located at No.5 North Street. It was built in the reign of Kangxi and rebuilt in the 12th year of Daoguang (1832), with a total area of nearly 2,000 square meters. Legend has it that it was donated by the Wu family in West Street. The whole building framework is well preserved, and many stone pillars are excellent stone carvings in Guiyang.

Wanshou Palace is located at No.3 West Street, adjacent to Ciyun Temple. Built in the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt in the third year of Jiaqing (1798). At first, it was not a Taoist temple, but a Jiangxi guild hall, which was a place for businessmen from south to north, and was later transformed into a Taoist temple. The whole palace consists of the main hall, the attached hall, the west wing, the theater and the living area, with a total area of 1000 square meters, but most of the buildings were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and were rebuilt later. The most interesting thing in the palace is the theater, where the wood carvings are exquisite. On the wooden beam on the right side of the theater building, a group of high-relief figures are the most famous, including "Hongmen Banquet", "Ambush on all sides" and "Embarrassment on all sides", which have military cultural characteristics.

Xiang Ying Temple

Xiang Ying Temple, located at the foot of the mountain on the west side of South Street, was built during the apocalypse of Ming Dynasty. Known as "the ancestral temple of Qian Shan", it is one of the famous ancient temples in Guiyang. Still full of fragrance. There are three halls in the temple, the former is the Temple of the King of Heaven, and now there are statues of Maitreya in the temple, and there are four statues of kings on both sides of the temple. Through the front hall, there is the Hall of the Great Hero, with Buddha Sakyamuni in the middle and Manjusri Bodhisattva and Pu Xian on both sides. Her Royal Highness is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, with auspicious boys and dragon girls on both sides of Guanyin. Surprisingly, it is the Taoist immortal "Daomu" that is enshrined upstairs. When the locals asked, it was originally called "Doumu Pavilion", which was originally a Taoist temple dedicated to Doumu. Later, it was robbed by Buddhas and turned into a Buddhist temple. People moved the statue of Dum here and offered it together.
