Show background
In 2006, China issued a policy to teach the same major in two different academic years, in order to keep up with some developed countries in the west. The purpose of training four-year students is to specialize in technical work in the future, while the purpose of training five-year medical imaging technology is to engage in diagnosis and treatment in the future. We can't deny that the country's practice is correct, because the trend of the times is that it is really necessary to separate talents from all walks of life and specialize in a certain profession, so that society can make continuous progress.
Cultivation mode
According to the "Medical Imaging" major listed in the Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities (No.8 Jiaogao [1998]) promulgated by the Ministry of Education, the academic system should be five years, and the degree awarded is a bachelor of medicine. The training goal of students is "senior medical professionals who have the basic theoretical knowledge and ability of basic medicine, clinical medicine and modern medical imaging and can engage in medical imaging diagnosis, interventional radiology and medical imaging technology in medical and health units".
According to this training goal: after employment, students can work as both medical imaging diagnostic doctors and medical imaging technicians. The four-year medical imaging major is an undergraduate major set up by the state to adapt to the reform and development of medical and health undertakings and the demand for talents in medical and health posts. According to the document of the Ministry of Education, the four-year medical imaging major is awarded with a Bachelor of Science degree. At present, the author hasn't seen the training goal of the four-year medical imaging specialty formulated by the relevant authorities or institutions, but according to the degree categories awarded, the training goal can be determined as "senior medical professionals who can work in medical imaging technology in medical and health units", and it can be guessed that the training is medical imaging technicians;
Secondly, according to Article 15 of the Notice of the Ministry of Health (Weifa (2006) 125), "Medical majors such as medical technology" and "non-medical majors whose degree is certified by the syllabus and professional training direction or degree certificate" will not accept the registration for the doctor qualification examination, which also "sets the tone" for the development direction of the four-year medical imaging undergraduate major. Although there are differences in the policies and standards for the registration of medical practitioners in different provinces and cities, the professional development ability of four-year medical imaging undergraduate courses awarded with bachelor of science degree is clear.
However, at present, some colleges and universities still follow the talent training plan of five-year undergraduate course in the training direction of four-year medical imaging specialty, that is, both "doctors" and "technicians" are taken into account in the training direction, with "doctors" as the main training direction. Reason: (1) meets the needs of students. The vast majority of students believe that universities choose medical schools to become doctors rather than technicians in the future. If it is the latter, it is necessary to change majors or even drop out of school as soon as possible. (2) adapt to the needs of the job market. At present, there is still a certain demand for medical imaging undergraduates engaged in imaging diagnosis in hospitals above the county (city) level, which will guide schools to run schools to a greater extent. (3) At present, the interpretation of the registration policy of the medical practitioner examination is not uniform, or the diploma is more important than the degree certificate, which has little influence on the four-year medical imaging undergraduates who apply for the medical practitioner examination. It is precisely because of the above reasons that the training objectives of many colleges and universities are still relatively blind.
Basic difference
The most important difference is the difference in diplomas after graduation.
As mentioned above, after graduating from a five-year undergraduate course, you should be engaged in diagnostic work in a medical unit, and the diploma issued after graduation is also a bachelor's degree in medicine. The four-year program is different. In view of the requirements of national policies, only the Bachelor of Science degree can be awarded. According to the current national policy (as follows): registration conditions for medical practitioners
According to the relevant provisions of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Medical Practitioners, the contents are as follows:
Article 9 Anyone who meets one of the following conditions may take the qualification examination for medical practitioners:
(1) Having a bachelor's degree or above in medical major in an institution of higher learning and having completed a one-year probation period in a medical, preventive and health care institution under the guidance of a medical practitioner;
(2) Having obtained the practicing certificate of practicing assistant physician, having a medical college degree in an institution of higher learning, and having worked in a medical, preventive and health care institution for two years; Get a medical degree from a secondary specialized school and have worked in medical, preventive and health care institutions for five years.
Provisions on the qualifications for registration in the doctor qualification examination:
Fifteen, one of the following circumstances, not to accept the doctor qualification examination registration:
1, graduated from health vocational high school;
2. Graduates majoring in basic medicine, forensic medicine, nursing, auxiliary medicine, medical technology and other related medicine, pharmacy and medical management;
3, graduated from the medical profession, but the syllabus and professional training direction or graduation certificate indicate the non-medical direction;
4. Graduated from a medical major, but the syllabus and professional training direction or degree certificate prove that the degree is not a medical major;
5. Non-active servicemen enter the examination with the probationary certificate issued by military medical, prevention and health care institutions or sign up for the doctor qualification examination in the army;
6. Servicemen hold a probationary period certificate issued by local medical, prevention and health care institutions;
7. Sign up for the doctor qualification examination with the "Professional Certificate" or "Academic Certificate";
8. 1999 65438+ 10 1 After graduation, students from health workers' secondary specialized schools apply for the qualification examination for practicing assistant doctors.
It is not difficult to see that the current four-year system (from 06 to 10) cannot handle medical certificates like the five-year system, which is the most essential difference between the four-year system and the five-year system. It is this difference that causes the difference after graduation.
