Shooting angle and light

shooting angle

The shooting angle refers to the relationship between the shooting point and the horizontal height of the object being photographed. Through the choice of angle, it meets the needs of shaping the subject image and expressing the theme. There are three shooting angles: Ping She angle, overhead angle and overhead angle, but different shooting angles can produce different modeling effects and artistic effects. The so-called miss is a mile away, and the shooting angle must not be underestimated. Below we will give you a detailed description.

1, Cape Ping She

The shooting point and the shooting object are on the same horizontal line, and they are shot at a head-up angle, which is called Ping She angle.

The picture effect formed by Ping She Angle is close to people's visual habit of observing things, and the sense of perspective formed is relatively normal, and the subject will not be distorted and damaged due to perspective deformation. However, the defect and deficiency of Ping She angle is that it often compresses all kinds of scenery before and after under the same horizontal line, lacking the effect of spatial perspective, which is not conducive to the expression of layering.

When you shoot the lotus from this angle, you get the profile image of the lotus, which is suitable for showing the elegant charm of the lotus through the foil of the lotus and the lotus leaf. You can also take the reflection of the lotus into the picture, so there won't be any fun. Pay special attention to the background from Ping She's perspective, because it is easy for Ping She to take in the clutter behind the picture and interfere with the performance of the subject. If the background is really unsatisfactory due to environmental restrictions, we can improve the picture effect by blurring the large aperture lens or controlling the exposure to blacken the background.

2. upward angle

The shooting point is lower than the subject, and the object in a higher position is shot at a look-up angle, which is called a look-up angle.

Elevation can cause a very low horizon or horizontal line in the picture, so that the messy background is hidden below the low horizon. As the background, the sky occupies a considerable area in the picture, with high foreground and prominent subject, which can change the natural proportion of the scenery before and after and produce an abnormal perspective effect. Shooting the lotus from an upward angle can get the effect of standing upright and piercing the sky, which is suitable for showing the graceful and vigorous effect of the lotus.

3. Overlooking angle

The shooting point is higher than the subject, and the object at a lower position is shot at a overlooking angle, which is called the overlooking angle. The vertex angle is suitable for expressing scale and momentum, and can be used to express beautiful pattern effects, or to set off the posture of the main body with a purified background.

Shooting the lotus from this angle can get the top image of the lotus, which can well show the cascade of petals and the shape and color of the flower heart. If you shoot the lotus pond with a wide-angle lens, you can shoot a picture of "green with a little red" from this angle.

"Looking horizontally, the ridge edge becomes a peak, and the distance is different." In photography creation, the picture composition forms formed by choosing different shooting points are ever-changing. Among these "changes", one thing remains unchanged, that is, the choice of shooting point must meet the objective and practical needs and the photographer's creative intention. Only in this way can the author's experience, understanding, evaluation and emotional color of the objective world be expressed through the novel composition form formed by appropriate shooting points.

spotlight

Light is the soul of photography. Therefore, we should pay attention to the change of light, not only the intensity of light, but also the direction of light, and talk to light with your heart.

First of all, we must distinguish the intensity of light. Under the hard dimming light, the contrast of the subject is large, and the details and texture are outstanding. You can use this light to get vivid and bright effects. On the contrary, the quality of light produced by diffused light is soft, both in cloudy and cloudy days outdoors. In this light condition, a quiet and subtle effect can be obtained.

Furthermore, pay attention to the angle of light. With the different light angles, the texture of the subject will be strengthened or weakened, and the shape will be highlighted or faded. Sunlight can clearly show the color and shape of flowers, but it will reduce the layering and three-dimensional sense of the subject because it is not conducive to creating highlights and shadows; Side light can well show the shape and details of the subject; Backlight makes the subject look dramatic. Proper exposure can make backlight produce beautiful silhouette light around the subject, and contrast backlight can produce silhouette effect.

I remember a photographer saying that "the work will be published sooner or later". In fact, this sentence has two meanings One meaning is that photographers will have good works sooner or later as long as they make unremitting efforts and exploration. Another meaning is that sooner or later is a good time to produce works. The light in the early morning and evening is directional, warm and effective, and the sunlight is not as vicious as at noon, so the lotus is the most delicate and charming, which is the best time to shoot the lotus. In addition, the flexible use of outdoor lights, flashlights, flashlights and other artificial light sources and reflectors, combined with natural light, can produce lotus works with novel lighting effects.

We should not only be good at using light to shoot new ideas, but also make full use of the lighting conditions at the scene and use them in an eclectic way. For example, in a shady lotus pond, light shines on the lotus pond through the gaps between leaves. In the breeze, the shadows of the trees were swaying and mottled, and one of the lights happened to shine on the lotus. At this time, we can take advantage of the color temperature difference between the lotus and the surrounding environment to shoot a picture of cold and warm color contrast.

Contrast control

The contrast of most photos is normal, neither too high nor too low. Such photos will not attract people's attention, because people are used to it. And those scenes with abnormal contrast or inconspicuous contrast often have strange effects, because rarity is novelty. Therefore, after clever processing by sensitive photographers, abnormal Gao Fancha or low contrast are the characteristics of the above images. As a matter of fact, original photographers know that the best photos can only be taken by subjects with backlight illumination (abnormal Gao Fancha) and scenery in rain, snow or fog (abnormal low contrast).
