As portrait photography, the choice of model is naturally the most important, but the scene is also an important part of composition, and a good scene can make the composition of the work icing on the cake. Ideas about the theme
When the scene is selected, the inspiration is generated like a spring. There are many legends about the sea. The appearance of fairies, mermaids and other figures in Greek mythology has formed a beautiful picture in my mind. Women are like fairies, white gauze, harps ... The indescribable beautiful ideas make my strong creative impulse stronger and get the support of other members of the shooting team. Out of the emphasis on characterization in rich scenes, we invited a model with a certain dance foundation, whose rich body language and camera sense, coupled with an ethereal and pure white gauze skirt with one diagonal shoulder, will definitely present the idea perfectly.
The figures and shapes are finalized, but the preparation of materials is very complicated. There are many difficulties in creating on the beach. In addition to outdoor lighting, lampstands, tripods and other conventional devices needed for shooting, the harp, which is nearly one person high, is the main prop, which consumes a lot of energy of the shooting team, not to mention the miscellaneous props that are necessary or can be added to various modeling ideas such as high stools, bottled water and slippers. After some twists and turns, everything is ready and ready to shoot!
After shooting:
The shooting process is full of twists and turns, and the weather is the biggest variable. The first real shot started from the clear sky in Wan Li, and turned cloudy when it arrived in Lingang. The pale sky, like a smelly face, played a big joke on the film crew, but it didn't get better after waiting for a long time. At about two o'clock in the afternoon, seawater also joined the ranks of improvisation. The selected shooting spot was soon submerged by the rising sea water, and we had to go home until the tide didn't ebb in the evening. I walked back and forth for nearly 200 kilometers and found nothing. I was really happy at first, but I came back disappointed. Fortunately, the creative enthusiasm has not been dispelled. Friends checked the weather and tidal period before driving the car the next day. It was just beginning to ebb when we arrived at the shooting point. We immediately assembled props, armed to the teeth, and walked into the beach. Oily sea mud is the biggest enemy of precision devices and model white skirts. No one wants to apply a natural sea mud mask all over his body. Carrying a heavy device and helping the model carry the elegant long skirt, we carefully walked to the scheduled shooting point.
I found a depression with a little water, and the film crew added machines to prepare for shooting. The sea breeze blows over the water, and the sparkling waves add a little agility to the picture in the landscape frame. We decided to shoot the floating model early. Imagine the model floating from the sea like a fairy, how wonderful it is!
There are also many tutorials on suspended shooting techniques on the Internet. Fix the position of the machine and take a picture of the scene including the model and the bracket and a blank picture of the scene. After that, the two pictures are superimposed and the support is removed by software, and an elegant suspended photo can be born.
The pose and cooperation of the model
In order to facilitate the model to enter the role, let's start with a simple suspension, and let the model sit on a high stool and fiddle with the strings. The 70CM high stool makes the model's figure more slender and moving. Considering that the sea breeze is very strong and the ebb tide coincides with noon, it is necessary to prevent the model's hair from "dancing wildly" to cover her face and to prevent the model from opening her eyes in direct sunlight. We choose to make the model face the wind direction, and the main light source is the sunlight from the right rear position of the model. We used side backlighting and placed a 400W outdoor lamp on the other side, which fully preserved the details of the sky.
The muddy beach made the shooting process unexpected. First of all, due to the accidental immersion of the power interface, the outdoor light is * * *. Fortunately, we have prepared Canon 580EX flash fill light; Later, because it was difficult for the model to remain stable when sitting on a high stool, so that more movements rehearsed on the flat ground in advance could not be stretched, we had to remove some difficult movements.
: shooting equipment and quotation
The equipment I used for this photo shoot is Canon EOS 5D Mark III, and the lenses are EF 17-40mm f/4L USM and Sigmapo 70-200mm F2.8EX DG OSHM.
We used a telephoto lens with a length of 70-200mm to take suspended photos. Because it is far away from the model, the flash of the output fill light is set to manual mode11. Other friends also do their jobs to protect the posture and clothes of the model. After intense and busy cooperation, I finally completed a series of suspension photos. After processing the original film, I found that there were still some details in the composition due to the influence of the environment. Fortunately, free photos can be re-edited, and more skirts were deliberately taken when shooting. The flying lens also facilitates the post-processing of some skirts covered by brackets.
After the suspension shooting at the normal angle, we shot other compositions. I put on a Canon 17-40mm wide-angle lens and shoot different angles with my hand. Wide-angle lens brings great visual impact, so it is necessary to pay attention to the position of horizon when shooting. Low position operation is easy. In order to create a sense of angle as much as possible, some bird's-eye photos were originally intended to stand on a high stool. Because the unstable "foundation" made me a photographer miserable, I was forced to cancel them, and finally I finished them with one hand and took them blindly.
During the whole shooting process, the change of lighting conditions also made us spend a lot of thoughts. Because of the long shooting time, the position of the sun is constantly moving, and the influence of clouds on light needs to be constantly adjusted. We try our best to complete the shooting at the best time when the light passes through the clouds to form a natural soft mask, and we also habitually take some photos of the sky and clouds for later use.
: Post-processing
The synthetic processing method of suspended photos has been mentioned above. In later software, such as Photoshop, photos containing models and supports are superimposed with empty photos to reduce the transparency of the layer, check and delete unnecessary parts, and carefully trim the edge details with tools such as masks and stamps. If it is difficult to handle, you can call the corresponding part in the separately shot material to cover it. As long as the camera position is fixed and the aperture, focus and shutter speed are locked, the synthesis space is quite large.
In this case, the idea of framing adopts strong color difference. The blue sky and the yellow beach floor can be easily adjusted separately in Photoshop through optional color options, and the skin color of the model can also be enhanced separately. The reflection effect is added to the water surface below the photo, creating the feeling that the harp rises slowly from the bottom of the water, and expressing the theme effect of "Sea Fairy" more ethereal and real. Here, the photographer also recommends a plug-in filter-the language of burning pear tree water, which can truly simulate a variety of reflection effects and enrich images.
