According to the official website of the Buddhist Association of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, there are 23 Tibetan Buddhist temples registered and reopened according to law, with 50 hereditary living buddhas and more than 2,400 Buddhist faculty members, with a total of1260,000 followers, accounting for 38% of the total population of the state.
