How to shoot a 720 panorama

Types of panoramic photography

I think panoramic photography can be roughly divided into three categories: cylindrical panoramic photography, spherical panoramic photography and planar panoramic photography.

Cylindrical panorama includes: inner cylindrical panorama and outer cylindrical panorama.

Cylindrical panoramic photography is divided into the following shooting methods: 1, horizontal shooting; 2. Vertical shooting method; 3. Inclined shooting method.

Spherical panorama includes: inner spherical panorama and outer spherical panorama.

Panorama of inner tube: The camera position is fixed when shooting. After the camera is rotated 360 degrees by a camera converter or a conventional camera, the image formed by post-processing is called panorama of inner tube. Because of the image formed by this shooting technique, it is necessary to connect the ends of the picture, and the picture forms a cylinder inward, and the viewer stands in the cylinder to watch. So this shooting technique is called inner tube panorama.

Panorama of the outer tube: When shooting this panoramic form, the subject does not move and the camera takes pictures around the subject. The image formed by this shooting method is called the outer tube panorama. During the exhibition, the picture is also connected end to end into a cylinder, but the picture needs to face outwards, and the viewer stands outside the cylinder to watch, so this shooting technique is called panoramic view of the outer cylinder.

At present, there are two kinds of spherical panoramic photography: the first one takes pictures of the front, back, left, right, up and down of the subject one by one with a conventional film camera. During the exhibition, the photos must be spliced into a hollow ball with an inward picture, and then the audience can watch it in the ball. Secondly, it uses fisheye lens or conventional lens to shoot multiple images, and then uses special software to mosaic and synthesize them. This panoramic form can only be demonstrated by computer. These two shooting methods are called inner spherical panorama.

Panorama of outer sphere: the subject must be spherical or nearly spherical. When shooting, do equidistant multi-dimensional rotation shooting around the shooting object until the whole sphere is shot. During the exhibition, the pictures are spliced into a sphere one by one, and the pictures are outward. This shooting technique is called outer spherical panorama. At present, the satellite orthophoto map of the whole earth can be seen on the internet, which is a spherical panorama of the outer sphere.

Plane panoramic photography: generally, this shooting technique is applied to images such as streets or buildings that cannot be shot at one time. When shooting, the camera position makes equidistant translation movement along the subject until all the subjects are shot. After multiple images are synthesized, it is called a planar panorama.

All the above are personal opinions to attract more attention. I hope everyone will actively participate in the discussion of panoramic photography technology. This is a website dedicated to panoramic tourism. Panoramic tourists show you the world, hoping to give some hints ~
