18 Common photographic construction methods

Photography is not just holding a mobile phone and pressing the shutter to take pictures. This can only be called taking pictures.

Photography should be expressed from exposure, composition, methods, skills, light, color and other aspects, so that the picture will have aesthetic feeling.

Photography is subtraction, composition should not contain too many scenes, so that the picture has an interesting point, usually called the subject.

Let's use the photos I have taken to learn the common composition methods of 18 photography.

Composition method1:l-shaped composition.

L-shaped composition will give the picture a sense of visual tension and extension, which is suitable for landscape and portrait photography.

When I saw the L-shaped composition, I thought of the following photo, which was taken in Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden. Near Wang Lian, palm trees extend far away, forming an L-shape. There is a subject in the L-shape, which is even more brilliant. Actually, I also intend to highlight Wang Lian in this photo.

The second composition method: vertical line composition.

The scenery in the picture forms vertical lines, and vertical line composition can make the picture have a sense of visual extension in both up and down directions, and the lines are tall, straight, slender and grow upward, which is mostly suitable for buildings and trees.

The bamboo pole in this photo is cut from the middle, creating a sense of visual extension, growth and infinite breakthrough at the top and bottom of the picture.

The third composition method: symmetrical composition.

Whether it is left or right or up or down in the picture, if the scenery is the same, this composition is called symmetrical composition. Some themes have symmetrical structures, such as the wings of butterflies, the Bird's Nest and the National Grand Theatre.

Another kind of symmetrical composition is the symmetry of the subject's reflection on the water surface or reflective objects, which gives people a sense of coordination, calmness and order.

This photo shows the symmetry between the building and the water reflection.

The fourth composition method: diagonal composition.

It can be regarded as a small classification of diagonal composition. Diagonal composition is easy to understand, that is, a line is formed from the upper left corner to the lower right corner and from the lower left corner to the upper right corner, which has a stronger sense of extension and strength, but diagonal composition can't do this.

This photo uses a branch of the cannonball tree as a diagonal composition, and there is a twig at the lower left, which is more standard if it is removed.

The fifth composition method: radial composition method.

Radial type is an object that diverges horizontally around, radiates outward like radiation and expands to adapt to the circular structure. Such as bicycle wheels, peacock, banana leaf texture, blooming flowers and so on. , all belong to centripetal radiation.

There is also centrifugal radiation, which gives people the impression that the surrounding scenery or elements spread away from the center, which can make the viewer interested in the outside of the picture, and at the same time, the picture has the feeling of stretching, splitting and spreading.

This painting adopts the methods of petal radial composition and centripetal radial.

The sixth composition method: golden section composition.

That is to say, in what we usually call nine-grid composition, the subject is located at the golden section, that is, the horizontal and vertical positions of the picture are 1/3, or the positions of four points generated by the intersection of three bisectors. This position is the visual interest point of the picture, which will increase the aesthetic feeling of the picture and highlight the main body.

Triangular synthesis method is a simplified version of golden section method. It uses a 3×3 grid to divide the picture, and the subject can be located on any bisection line. This way of composition can clearly express the subject and give people a balanced but not rigid visual feeling.

In this photo, the pear is located at the golden section, and the subject is very clear.

The seventh composition method: frame composition.

Picture composition is to form a composition with various pictures, and focus the viewer's attention on the picture. Usually, frames are beautiful or distinctive doors, windows, trees, flowers, grass, etc. The composition of the frame not only has a sense of appreciation, but also the scenery in the frame, so that the picture will be more moving.

Eighth composition method: curve composition.

There are S-shaped curves and C-shaped curves, such as human body, roads, rivers and streams. Curves with smooth lines will be more vivid.

As we all know, Sister online celebrity Furong often appears concave S-shape when taking photos.

I can't help but think of the S-shape my daughter took for her when she was a child. At that time, she was over four years old and twisted quite like that. I call her Sister Furong.

At that time, I was still taking pictures with a digital camera, and I didn't know how to choose the scenery and composition. At first glance, there are many problems.

The runway in this picture adopts a C-shaped composition.

The ninth composition method: triangle composition.

Triangular composition will give people a sense of stability, grandeur and durability. Buildings and mountains often use this composition, which can be one or more triangles in the picture, upright, inclined or inverted.

This picture is a picture of a house, and one side of it is a triangle. It's in the Rose Valley in Yalong Bay. At noon, everyone was enjoying the cool indoors, and I was looking for outdoor subjects under the scorching sun. I didn't understand triangular composition at that time, but I subconsciously used triangular composition to shoot.

The 10 composition method: random composition.

Scenery appears in the form of scattered points, also known as chess composition. Like pearls scattered on a silver plate, there are sparse and dense, such as birds and flowers, and the layout should not be too messy.

These chrysanthemums are in full bloom among the leaves, which is a patchwork composition and a compact composition.

Composition method 1 1: horizontal line composition.

The horizontal line composition should be "horizontal and vertical", and the lines have a sense of extension. Banners are usually used for composition. There are usually three forms of waterline composition, namely, high horizontal line composition, middle horizontal line composition and low horizontal line composition.

This painting consists of high horizontal lines, leaving only a little sky. In order to highlight people, many pictures are left on the sea and beach.

This one is made up of a low horizontal line. In order to highlight the clouds in the sky, there is not much left on the sea.

The composition of the middle horizontal line is that the horizontal line is located in the middle of the picture to express the feeling of openness and tranquility in the form of a balanced and symmetrical picture, in which the ground and the sky account for half of the picture respectively.

Composition method 12: perspective traction line composition.

Perspective line drawing composition is referred to as perspective composition, which makes the two-dimensional plane show the real three-dimensional space. The picture has a sense of spatial perspective, which is far small and near large, attracting attention and can be better reflected through wide-angle lens shooting.

The flower sea below is composed of perspective traction lines, which was taken by feeling before learning photography.

13 composition method: diagonal composition.

The scene of the picture is diagonal, which will have a sense of instability and great movement, so the picture has a sense of space, and the space will be expanded and improved. If there is no diagonal line to tilt the camera and make the lines of the picture tilt, it will be less rigid and dynamic.

Like the lantern in this photo, it is composed with diagonal lines, which is very dynamic and the picture is extended.

Composition method 14: cyclic composition.

Circular composition is a kind of curve composition, but it is a closed curve type, like S-type C-type is an open curve type. Curves give people a beautiful, plump and soft feeling, which can improve the picture level.

This photo was taken at Qingyun Mountain Amusement Park when I returned to my hometown. This waterwheel is a big circle, and the lines inside are auxiliary compositions.

The first 15 composition method: central composition.

The main body in the middle will make the picture look dull and lifeless. We usually use the golden section method to compose the picture. The central composition is an irregular composition, so you don't have to stick to the theory, but you can break the routine and make a bold breakthrough. The main body is placed in the center of the picture, and it is only done when the main body is wonderful enough.

Spider orchids like this, as thin as cicada wings, are located in the center of the picture. And the long stamens extend outward, and the components are auxiliary.

Composition method 16: leave blank for composition.

Empty is relatively large, and blank means that a large part of the picture is blank. It looks simple and clean, and it can also make viewers associate with the picture, thus creating an artistic conception of "endless painting", and you can also write some words in the blank to express your feelings.

This picture is composed with blank space, and the branches and leaves only occupy the upper right corner of the picture, and pictures and texts are added in the blank space, but the two birds are a little presumptuous. It should be noted that the added pictures and texts cannot affect the main body.

Composition method 17: compact composition.

Crowding is just a little crowded, which actually means compact composition. In such a picture, the main body usually covers the whole picture, and there are almost no blank parts, such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, whole grains and snacks. This composition method can be used.

This composition method and blank technique are called "sparse but opaque" in painting. In other words, the composition of the picture should be applied to the extreme. If it is "sparse", leave a big blank. If it is "secret", you must make the picture feel airtight.

The small tomato in this picture occupies the whole picture, which is a compact composition.

Composition method 18: Copier composition.

That is, the incident angle is perpendicular to the center of the composition picture, and the picture is copied neatly like a copier or scanner, so that the picture is correct and tidy. It is very important for the composition of the copier that the shooting angle of the mobile phone or camera is vertical!

These composition methods can complement each other, can be used together, or can be used alone. When shooting, choose the composition according to the subject, so that the photo will be more aesthetic.
