Why is Kaiyang called the hometown of prose poetry?

Kaiyang County has a profound cultural heritage, a fine tradition of loving literature and art, a strong cultural atmosphere and colorful ethnic customs. Influenced by the cultures of Li, Yi, Bashu, Jingxiang, Yelang and Yungui, literary creation is active, literary talents come forth in large numbers, and the literary industry has made remarkable achievements. In 2002, it was named "Hometown of Prose Poetry in China" by China Prose Poetry Research Association. In recent years, Kaiyang County's literary and artistic creation activities are very active, its cultural life is rich and colorful, and its achievements in spiritual civilization construction are remarkable, which has attracted the attention of cultural and artistic circles inside and outside the province. Kaiyang county has held many provincial-level sexual culture and art seminars, calligraphy and painting photography exhibitions, prose poetry meetings, literary pen meetings, literary performances, and collecting styles, and the creative achievements are very remarkable. Jasmine Literature, a county-run publication, has been published for more than 100 times, and has been well received by the responsible comrades of the Propaganda Department of the CPC, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Writers Association. He Jingzhi, Bing Xin and Cang Kejia also wrote inscriptions for the publication. According to incomplete statistics, more than 8,000 works (pieces) have been published in various domestic newspapers and periodicals by more than 100 authors in the county, and more than 200 works by more than 30 authors have been published, exhibited, won prizes and permanently collected in various foreign competitions (exhibitions), and more than 10 works of literary and artistic works such as Selected Prose Poems of Liu Yi have been publicly published; 137 people (times) joined various literary and art societies at or above the provincial and municipal levels, and more than 20 people's creative achievements were included in various literary dictionaries. The creation of prose poems in Kaiyang County is particularly active. A large number of prose poetry writers work hard in the prose poetry garden, and a large number of prose poetry works appear in newspapers and periodicals inside and outside the province every year. It has become one of the counties with strong prose poetry writers, many works and the most active creation in Guizhou, attracting the attention of domestic cultural and artistic circles and prose poetry circles, and is praised as "Kaiyang prose poetry phenomenon" by literary circles.
