What does PS bring us? My opinion on PS.

Let me talk about my understanding and thinking about PS: now photography has entered the digital age, which is due to the revolutionary changes in photosensitive record carriers. Whether it is CCD, CMOS or X3, the image is converted into digital data by photodiode, so that we can see it immediately. Now, no matter what kind of digital camera, you can see the complete positive image immediately by pressing the shutter. It seems that we have mastered the whole process of photography, and the threshold of photography has been greatly reduced. Any illiterate old lady can take out a small digital camera and shoot everywhere, and the effect is good. We have ushered in a real era of national photography, which is unimaginable in the film era, thanks to the success of digital camera research and development and the reduction of cost. But please don't forget, in fact, digital camera manufacturers have pre-stored a set of solutions to optimize digital signals in the chip, which processes every photo you take with extremely fast operation speed. Only the pictures in RAW file format are a bunch of original digital information data without any processing by the camera (commonly known as "digital negative" in photography). In fact, no matter which file format you shoot, you can't faithfully and perfectly show the light, color and image of nature. At present, automatic white balance is only effective for normal color temperature, and deviation or even failure will almost occur at high color temperature and low color temperature. In short, digital cameras will still take defective images most of the time. What is the reason? The fundamental reason is that the research, development and manufacturing technology of modern digital photosensitive materials are still immature, and there are still many unsolved problems, some of which are still very serious and are still being further developed and overcome. Therefore, digital images still need to be optimized as in the film age. Digital images are post-processed by computer software, and Photoshop created by Americans is the most famous digital graphics and image editing software in the world. Because of its powerful function, it has triggered great changes in the world printing industry and become the global standard software for graphics and images. We usually call it "PS" software. This software frees us from the dark room in the past. Different from the expensive and complicated printing equipment in the film era, PS software is a condition that ordinary people can achieve economically. As long as you have a computer that meets the basic requirements and install image processing software, you can start learning and post-processing digital images. Of course, there are many softwares in the world that can handle digital photos. Nikon, Canon and Fuji all have their own image processing software, and there are also famous "light and shadow magicians" in China. These softwares all have one purpose, that is, to make digital photos or scanned film digital photos more perfect and closer to nature and reality. In fact, all the digital photography works in Europe and America, including the most rigorous and conservative photo of National Geographic, have not been carefully processed in the later period, which is due to their early start, high education level and quick hands-on of photographers. In European and American countries, digital post-processing has long been a respected profession, with professional titles and early remuneration like photographers. Many famous photographers have special post-processing experts. However, the start and popularization of digital photography and digital video in China is relatively late, only for more than ten years. If you don't handle digital images well enough or are ugly, or even can't compare with ugliness, this is the natural process of our initial learning stage. There is no need to laugh at them, let alone blame and reject digital post-processing software tools. Since everyone is aware of the importance of digital post-processing, and they are all studying hard, it is reasonable to believe that with the deepening of study and the continuous accumulation of experience, our post-processing technology will get better and better until one day you praise an excellent digital photo, but you don't realize that it has been post-processed. As for creative photos such as digital synthesis, it is another field of digital image processing. That method has gone beyond photography. The content of photography is only material. It is a kind of freedom and thought. "Unexpectedly, I can't do it!" Whether in film age or modern digital photography, if you don't know darkroom printing or digital post-processing technology at all, you are not qualified to call yourself a standard photographer or photographer. This is a basic truth that everyone knows.
