Architectural style and characteristics of Yinchuan bell and drum tower

Bell and Drum Tower is also called "Cross Drum Tower" and "Four Drum Towers", commonly known as "Drum Tower". The building is 36 meters high and covers an area of 576 square meters. It consists of a platform, a pavilion and a turret. The abutment is square, with a side length of 24 meters and a height of 8.5 meters, and is made of masonry. There is a 5-meter-wide doorway around the platform, which is connected with Jiefang East-West Street and Gulou North-South Street. There are stone carvings all around the cave, with "welcome guests" in the east, "smoke coming" in the south, "coolness" in the west and "arch pole" in the north. There are coupon doors on both sides of the East Gate, and the south coupon door is titled "He Kun", which has an ear room; From Beipiaomen, you can climb to the abutment along the stone steps of the tunnel. There is a three-story double-eaved pavilion at the top of the cross rest mountain in the center of the platform, and each pavilion is surrounded by a circular corridor. Climb the pavilion, overlook the railing, and have a panoramic view of Yinchuan. The roof of the pavilion is decorated with dragon heads and lotus beads in the middle, showing the trend of double dragons playing with pearls, which has a unique flavor. Looking up at the bell and drum tower, it overhangs the eaves and flies over the ridge, towering and exquisite, vivid and spectacular, which embodies the wisdom and superb architectural skills of the working people in ancient China.
