The story of Zen language
The story of Zen Buddhism 1 The founder of Buddhism spent ten years in the cave, thinking about the true meaning of Buddhism for ten years. However, it doesn't know that his fame and caves have spread all over the world. Perhaps, he doesn't want to know this at all, these are just the details in his heart. He just sat quietly and realized the true meaning of Buddha. One day, it was snowing heavily. The howling wind brought large tracts of snowflakes into the mouth of the cave, and the cold penetrated into Dharma's skin from time to time. At this time, however, there was a man standing outside the cave. He earnestly asked his ancestors to accept him as an apprentice and taught him the method of detachment. He is the divine light. He was originally a general and lived in the north and south of the Yangtze River. However, as the ancient poem says, "One effort will dry up millions of bones". His hands are also covered with thick blood. Suddenly one day, he realized this. Since then, his body has become a heavy burden, and his mind has fallen into deep darkness. He turned to his teacher for help everywhere, trying to save all beings and gain "peace of mind." Finally came to the hole of the Dharma wall. Shenguang asked for a long time, and the snow was almost sealed. The founder finally turned around and asked, "What is your wish after standing in the snow for so long?" He explained his various reasons and said that he would save all beings. The founder was furious and said, "You think of Dafa with such a little determination. Do you know that all Buddhas spend infinite time seeking Dharma? " My father refused to accept him as an apprentice without saying anything. Shen Guang stood outside the cave for two days, and finally realized that the body is not a great thing. So he cut off his arm with a knife, and then asked his ancestors to accept him as an apprentice. Father Dharma said, "Good. You realize that' the flesh is a foreign object and not worth cherishing'. " He accepted him as an apprentice. Shenguang said, "Master, please feel at ease for me!" The founder asked, "Take away your heart, and I will be at ease for you." "I've been looking for it for a long time, but I just can't find it." Father Dharma smiled and said, "If you find it, will it still be your heart?" ? You got it? "The divine by surprise, immediately cheered. From that moment on, he understood that all laws are empty and nothing can be held at one end. If it is praised or true, it loses sincerity.
The wisdom of Zen:
The emptiness of all laws is a realm of Zen, and only when it reaches this realm can it transcend the world. The reason why the Buddha is a Buddha lies in the spiritual understanding of the Buddha and is not moved by external things; The reason why a bodhisattva is a bodhisattva lies in its immobility. Only in this way can we climb the other side of nirvana.
The story of Zen II. The Zen master who returned to Zong Zhichang had a disciple whose dharma name was spiritual training. He is clever and quick-witted. Gui Zongzhi often likes him very much and always hopes that he will inherit Buddhism and let Zen develop in his hands. However, it is precisely because of the high understanding of spiritual monks that they often have the heart to participate in the world. One winter, he saw the heavy snow, and the world suddenly fell into white. In this lonely atmosphere, he made up his mind to leave, go down the mountain alone, travel around and learn about the world. He went to say goodbye to Zen master Zhichang, who returned to the Sect, and said his own thoughts. The respected Zen master asked him, "Where are you going?" "Traveling around the world is home everywhere." "good! You have been meditating with me for more than ten years, and you are about to leave. Let me tell you the true meaning of Buddhism for the last time. Come to me when you have packed your luggage. " The monk went back to pack his luggage, and soon he left the abbot's room with his luggage. He left his luggage outside the door and went in to visit the Zen master who had returned to the Sect. The returning Zen master greeted him and said, "Come to me." The spiritual monk came to him and said, "It's cold, take care of yourself on the way."
Wisdom of Zen Zen is a kind of wisdom of life. Life is affectionate, so the Zen master is also a lover, even a passionate person. It's just the persistence and paranoia of Zen against love. Behind the enthusiasm of returning to religion, there is also a warning and reminder: everything in the world is like the cold in winter, which attacks the skin and disturbs the soul from time to time, so we must be careful.
The story of Zen gives birth to one, and the "one" in Zen is a unique philosophy, the unity of macro and micro, the unity of opposites, or the inversion of one. In short, the road is unified. Unique Zen language, inspiring wisdom language. It is mysterious and true, with clear direction; It is mysterious and popular, with profound implications.
Macro-micro integration
"A flower makes a world, and a leaf comes." Zen believes that we should observe the world clearly, focus on the big from the small and learn from the small. The so-called "dripping water can reflect the brilliance of the sun" inspires us to see the big from the small and grasp the overall situation.
The Buddha asked, "How can a drop of water not dry up?" Disciples can't answer. The Buddha replied, "Put it back in the sea." Its Zen meaning is: after all, individual strength is limited, and collective strength can bring you an avalanche; Individual life is short, and career life can make you immortal. That's right: the grace of dripping water is precious and life can last forever. Back to the sea, happy life in * * *.
Someone asked, "How to distinguish a fool from a wise man?" Master Xu Yun replied, "Fools only see snow, but wise men see the overall situation." Its Zen meaning is: snowflakes fall from the sky, fluttering and spreading, which can shake secular humanity; White is a heartfelt understanding, empty, that is, peace, wisdom, wind and water. Exactly: seeing things is love, watching colors is Wukong. There is a difference between wisdom and stupidity, both because of emptiness and reality.
unity of opposites
"My eyes are as cold as ashes, and my heart is as hot as fire." Zen believes that the essence of life is both calm and enthusiastic. The so-called "never give up, there is tension and relaxation." This enlightens us to master dialectics and the way of neutralization.
Someone asked, "What is the meaning of meditation?" Master Huineng replied: "The foreign minister is Zen, and the civil strife is fixed." Its Zen meaning is: secular phase, the so-called sentient phase, only Zen is true; The realm of the human heart, the so-called movement is moving, only Zen remains unchanged. Exactly: the outer body is a virtual image and the inner body is a field. Sit quietly with the Buddha in your heart.
Someone asked, "Is there such a thing as heaven and hell?" Master Bai Yin replied, "It's all in the concept of good and evil." Its Zen meaning is: the world can become hell or heaven; We should remember how many lessons there are, "One short step makes a lasting regret." Exactly: good goes to the gate of heaven and bad goes to the mouth of hell. Success or failure depends on one thought. Don't waste time.
Against one's will
"The vest is the heart, looking south and looking north." The so-called abnormal combination can lead to the same goal by different routes, but they complement each other. "No matter how clever a person is, he is stupid" and "bending over and stretching" are both inspiring us to use reverse thinking to achieve the goal of surprise.
Someone asked, "How can you concentrate on reading the Bible?" Master Ciyun replied, "Leave time." Its Zen meaning is: time is life, but the meaning of life does not depend on time; Life can keep pace with the times, transcend time and conquer space. Exactly: the morning bell faces west, and the evening drum carries the lamp. I don't know how time passed, but I am addicted to classics.
Someone asked, "What does a person think all the time?" Master Wei Yan replied, "I don't think about it." Its Zen meaning is: one should deal with the ever-changing world with the belief of immortality; We should conquer the surging desire with a firm attitude. Exactly: thinking is not thinking, but seeing is Buddha's light. Once you have an epiphany, it will be ordinary.

The understanding of Zen lies in the word "enlightenment", either thinking deeply or puzzled. The key is "speculation and agreement": it can't be expressed in words, only understood. The mission of Zen is to guide the great enlightenment of life.
Zen is smart and humorous, and often enlightens the mind with strange ideas and stimulates thinking: "If the snake dies, it will be returned without a basket." This language warns people to be kind and generous. "People without hands beat people without tongues, and people without tongues are nothing." This is a warning that the world should show itself. The Zen language is poetic and picturesque, and the metaphor is based on natural observation. It is very vivid: "Bamboo density does not hinder running water, and mountain height does not hinder wild clouds." It is intended to encourage enterprising. "Even if you are snowing three feet, you can't hold down an inch." This is a reward for insisting on retreating.
Story of Zen 4 Pomegranate Zen master once saw a waiter coming towards the Zhaitang with a alms bowl, so he stopped him and asked: Where are you going?
The waiter replied: Go to the Zhaitang.
Pomegranate Zen master disapprovingly reprimanded: Look at the bowl in your hand, I didn't know you were going to the fasting hall!
The waiter asked, if the Zen master knew it, why did he know it?
Pomegranate Zen master seriously defended: I am asking your duty.
The waiter replied solemnly, if the Zen master asks me about my duties, then I really have to go to the fasting hall.
Hearing the waiter's question and answer, Pomegranate Zen Master clapped his hands and praised: You really deserve to be my waiter.
Indeed, everyone should do his job well. Many people can't do their duty well, and the distress caused by giving up, discouragement and cowardice also follows. If you can stick to your duty as always, and don't be happy for things or sad for yourself, you can make achievements in that duty.
Story of Zen 5 When the Zen master was attending Zen in Guizong Temple in Lushan Mountain, one day, he suddenly had an idea and wanted to go down the mountain, so he said goodbye to Guizong Zen master. The revered Zen master asked, Where are you going?
Master Ling Xun answered: Go back to the mountain.
The venerable Zen master said with concern: You have studied here for 13 years, and you will leave today. I should say something about Buddhism for you. Find me when you pack your bags.
Later, the spiritual Zen master left his packed luggage outside the door, and then went to see the returning Zen master. The Zen master who came back said, Come to me. The practicing Zen master stepped forward according to his words, ready to listen to the teachings.
Master Gui Shanzong said softly: It's very cold, be careful on the road!
The spiritual training Zen master realized something.
Be careful on the road when the weather is cold. If we regard it as hardships, setbacks and bumps in the journey, then the caution on the road is a warning, and we treat everything with a normal heart. Zen is so common and simple that it can be revealed with a reminder.
Story of Zen 6 A Zen master is talking about Zen: Zen can break people's ignorance and troubles.
Then a man came out and retorted, I really didn't know I was worried. Excuse me, Zen master, what is ignorance? How did ignorance come from?
The Zen master said, can you ask such a simple and stupid question?
The man immediately got angry and asked confidently, even if you don't answer. Why are you insulting me?
The Zen master smiled and said: This is ignorance, and ignorance is thus produced.
What is ignorance? Ignorance originates from ignorance, which is a misunderstanding of Buddhist truth and the root of greed and ignorance. We are often oppressed by negative external forces such as anger, frustration and trouble, such as the fire of ignorance.
