Is the copyright buyout permanent?

Buying out the copyright of a work is usually permanent. If the copyright of a work is bought out, it means that the future copyright of the work belongs to the buyer. However, the copyright of the work itself has a legal protection period. For example, the copyright protection period of a job work is 50 years, and the protection period will not be recalculated because of copyright transfer.

According to Article 21 of the Copyright Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) (hereinafter referred to as the Copyright Law), the protection period of the publication right and property right of a citizen's work is 50 years before the author's death and after his death, and the product is a cooperative work, ending at 65438+February 3 1 day in the fiftieth year after the death of the last deceased author.

For the works of legal persons or other organizations, and the works of legal persons or other organizations that enjoy copyright (except the right of signature), the term of protection of publishing rights and property rights is fifty years, ending at 65438+February 3 1 day in the fiftieth year after the first publication of the works. However, if the work is not published within 50 years after the creation is completed, this law will no longer protect it.

The copyright and property rights of cinematographic works and works and photographic works created by similar cinematography shall be protected for fifty years, ending at 65438+February 3 1 in the fiftieth year after the first publication of the works. However, if the work is not published within 50 years after the creation is completed, this law will no longer protect it.
