How to adjust the focal length of Nikon d800

1, autofocus

Nikon D800 has a 5 1 point autofocus system, autofocus (AF): single servo autofocus (AF-S); Continuous servo autofocus (AF-C), which can automatically enable predictive focus tracking according to the state of the subject.

Press the shoot key to the middle position, and the focus will automatically return to the center or face, and then press it down to shoot the picture.

2, manual focus

There is a button on the switch of manual focus and automatic focus (MF-AF). Press and hold this button and rotate the rear wheel at the same time. The switched focus will be displayed on the shoulder screen (also in the viewfinder), and then release the button.

The reason why Nikon d800 can't focus:

Various factors may cause the camera's autofocus system to fail to work properly. We suggest completing the following inspection before sending the camera for inspection.

1, shooting theme

The autofocus system of the camera needs to compare the differences to get the focus. A dull subject or a subject without much detail or style may make the camera unable to focus accurately. If the camera focuses on an object with low contrast or insufficient details (such as a white wall or sky), it will be difficult to focus correctly.

If this happens, try adjusting the optional focal length of the camera to focus on different parts of the object. You can also try to focus on other objects at the same distance from the subject, then press the autofocus button and take pictures at the same time. For more information, please refer to the section "Using autofocus to get the best results" in the camera manual.

2. The camera or lens is set to MF.

Make sure that the camera's autofocus switch is not accidentally set to manual focus mode. Some lenses have their own AF/MF switch, which can also ensure that this switch will not be accidentally set to MF. If MF is set on the body or lens, the camera will not be able to try to focus.

3. Lens connection

The lens communicates with the camera body through a series of contacts. If these contacts are not properly connected to the camera body, autofocus may not start or become unstable, so the connection between the lens and the camera body should be checked.

To do this check, please make sure that the lens has been rotated to the bottom when it is connected to the fuselage. When connecting the lens, you should always turn it until it clicks into place. This ensures that the lens is correctly positioned and connected to the camera. If you continue to encounter this problem, please remove and reinstall the lens to reset the connection.

4, clean the lens/camera contacts

There are always eight contacts for connecting the lens on the camera body, which are located at the top of the lens bayonet under the pentaprism. The contact module of the lens is located behind the lens bayonet and used to connect these camera contacts for communication. In order to make the camera communicate with the lens smoothly, these contacts should be kept clean and dust-free.

If you find these contacts (whether on the camera or lens) dirty, we suggest that you send the camera and lens to the service center for cleaning. Dirty contacts can lead to poor connection and may also interrupt the focus of the camera.
