Coal miners' day is August 30th.
1949 On August 30th, Datong Mining Bureau, the predecessor of Tongmei Group, was established, and August 30th was designated as Miners' Day to commemorate the establishment of the Mining Bureau. Datong Coal Mine Group Co., Ltd. is the third largest coal mine state-owned enterprise in China, second only to Shenhua Group and China Coal Energy Group. The company is headquartered in Datong, Shanxi. In July 2000, it was restructured into Datong Coal Mine Group Co., Ltd., headquartered in Datong City, Shanxi Province, and is one of the national 100 million tons of thermal coal production enterprises.
