At the beginning of August 2002, villagers began to organize patrols again. At this time, Wang Jinghua of Dailing Wildlife Conservation Department came to the village with a Japanese. They found Director Xie of the village committee and said that they would install a high-tech product-inverter-that could "cure" wild boar in the villagers' farmland.
Wang Jinghua told the villagers that this inverter was brought by Tami Ichihiko, director of Hiroshima Black Bear Research Institute, and he was a Japanese who came with him.
