Basic modeling elements of photographic works

The modeling elements of photographic works mainly include light, color and composition. Film and television art expresses people, things and environment through these elements, thus creating colorful visual images.

1, light

The world-famous master Victorio storaro once said, "A photographer is also a writer, but he writes with light." Images are imaged by light, and movies are scripts written by light. In some ways, the light determines the tone of the film. For example, if we want to show a movie with an upward content and a positive sunshine theme, we will use bright warm colors, while when a movie always revolves around a heavy and depressing theme, we will generally use relatively calm cold colors to show it.

On the other hand, when the director intentionally highlights the image characteristics of a character, he will also use light to achieve the effect. The Tathagata in Journey to the West, one of our most common ones, is always glittering all over, in fact, to show the boundless divine power and supreme status of the Buddha.

Step 2 color

Color is another element of visual modeling, and color is the visual enjoyment when we feel the works of art most intuitively. Friends who have seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon may still remember the scene of Yu Jiaolong and Li Mubai fighting in the green bamboo forest. It is a lush green with a serious and exquisite artistic beauty. At this time, the whole picture appears green.

Step 3 write a composition

The composition of an image refers to the process of arranging objects and other elements on a plane organically. Photographic composition is a process of seeking artistic beauty for images. So we can see that different artists have different arrangements for each element of the picture. The way of composition is ever-changing, but the basic content of composition is relatively fixed, which is manifested in three parts: subject, companion and environment.

Generally speaking, the modeling elements in the image include light, color and composition, but in essence, these elements are all to express the content more appropriately without losing artistic beauty.
