p>
Pieces of blue fluorescence are like blue tears all over the beach. The scenery is beautiful and dreamy. Every time I see the online picture, I will be shocked.
So seeing Blue Tears with my own eyes is a little dream of mine.
Chasing blue tears requires skill and experience, and also depends on luck. It is quite difficult. There are many friends around me who have not seen it after chasing it three or four times. I haven’t chased it yet, so I plan to try hard this year.
If you want to see Blue Tears in China, Pingtan, Fuzhou is your first choice.
Pingtan is one of the areas where blue tears occur most frequently in the world. Although blue tears can also appear in other coastal areas as long as the conditions are suitable, such as Xiamen's Songyu Pier and the Bohai Sea coast. However, the probability of occurrence is extremely low, so it is not recommended to go out of your way to chase it.
Blue Tears appears at a different time every year. This year it came very early, appearing for the first time on March 2. Of course, it was no surprise that it became a hot search, with more than 100 million reads.
It seems that there are many friends who are as eager to try as I am, so I have done the homework for everyone.
Where and how to chase Blue Tears this year? Apart from Blue Tears, what else is fun and delicious in Pingtan? Just read this article.
What are blue tears?
Before talking about the strategy, let’s first learn about blue tears.
Blue tears are a kind of marine red tide phenomenon, which can be vividly called the marine blooming period. It is mainly caused by two kinds of luminous marine plankton: Helicobacter histi and Noctiluca.
The luminescent glands in their bodies will emit light blue light when stimulated by the beating of waves, so when a large number of sea fireflies and noctiluca gather explosively, a beautiful fluorescent blue sea will be formed. Like tears shed by the ocean.
The occurrence of red tide often means that there are some abnormal changes in the local marine environment, which may be eutrophication of seawater, or changes in wind direction and rainfall conditions.
Blue tears themselves are non-toxic and can be touched by people; however, as a red tide phenomenon, whether blue tears are marine pollution is still controversial.
Harmful red tide
But here we still want to correct its name. The appearance of blue tears is not a warning that the water body is polluted. It is precisely because the sea water in which it is located is very clear that it can be We see.
Only excessive amounts of Noctiluca will cause eutrophication of water bodies, and the density of algae is accurately monitored by local scientists, so there is no need to worry too much.
But we still have to insist on protecting the ecological environment!
When do blue tears appear?
Pingtan blue tears usually appear in April every year to August.
Among them, April to May are noctilucent algae-type blue tears, so now is the early stage of the appearance of noctiluca blue tears.
Since Noctiluca is a cold-water algae, blue tears will disappear naturally when the water temperature exceeds its upper limit of survival. The duration of this type of blue tears is also relatively short, usually about 30 seconds, and tear chasers must always be prepared.
July to August is the outbreak point of sea firefly blue tears.
Sea firefly itself is larger than Noctiluca, so the particle size of blue tears will be clearer and brighter. Moreover, the survival time of sea firefly blue tears can reach 120 seconds, making them easier to capture.
Depending on different marine environmental conditions, the duration of blue tears’ appearance varies each year, ranging from 1 to 2 weeks to 1 to 2 months.
Chasing blue tears is actually very hard, although after sunset, blue tears will appear in places with no other light sources. But generally large-scale outbreaks of blue tears occur late at night (after 23:00), and most tear chasers need to stay at the beach after dark.
But the moment you see the blue aurora appear in the sea, you will feel that it is all worth it.
How to chase blue tears?
Pingtan blue tears, as a natural phenomenon, can be predicted in real time. Although the accuracy will not be too high, it can provide us with a general direction.
So before setting off, you can pay attention to Pingtan Blue Tears Forecast and Pingtan Weather, two public accounts that provide real-time predictions of the location and probability of blue tears in the near future. If blue tears are likely to appear that day, these two accounts will post a notice.
Chasing blue tears is really a metaphysics and requires good luck, so many people don’t take pictures when blue tears appear, but bow their heads and make wishes.
Although chasing blue tears mostly depends on luck, you can also make some simple judgments when choosing a departure date.
For example, blue tears will only appear in sunny weather. If it is rainy for a period of time, it is better to start at another time.
If the wind direction is southerly that day, the temperature is warmer, and the sea surface still shows a light pink color, there is a higher probability that blue tears will break out that night.
On Pingtan Island, the blue tears are mainly found in Longwangtou, Yangtze River Ao, Dongmei Village, Tannan Bay and Houyan Island. Several points are not close together, so it is recommended to focus on chasing one point every night.
When chasing blue tears, it is recommended to live by the sea and rent an electric car to travel, because once blue tears break out, there is a high probability that the areas around these points will be blocked.
How to take pictures of blue tears?
To take pictures of blue tears, there are three elements: long exposure, large aperture, and tripod.
When shooting with the camera, adjust to a large aperture of 2.8-4.0, bring a wide-angle lens and a flashlight, and use a long exposure of 4-8 seconds. If possible, it is best to bring a tripod and shutter release cable; when shooting with a mobile phone, turn on the long exposure Just use the exposure function.
Besides Blue Tears, what else can you do in Pingtan?
Pingtan is the largest island in Fujian and the fifth largest island in the country. It was also called Little Kenting before.
In addition to Blue Tears, the island is also very fun. For example, driving on the open coastal road, watching the sunset windmills and the stone houses on the seaside are all great experiences.
The main way to play in Pingtan is to circle the island, with a north line and a south line:
North line: East China Sea Wonderland - Beigang Cultural and Creative Village - Huandao Road - Jingsha - Yangtze River Ao - Beibu Bay Glass Plank Road;
Southern route: Houyan Island-Haitan Ancient City-Tannan Bay-Elephant Trunk Bay.
This trip is mainly about chasing blue tears, so I will arrange some ways to play near the tears. During the day, you can eat and stroll around, and at night, you can stay close to Blue Tears.
How to get to Pingtan?
The first thing to talk about is transportation. Take the high-speed train from Hangzhou to Pingtan Station. The journey takes about 5 hours and the ticket price is about 300 yuan. It is quite convenient.
If you live near Fuzhou, it is more recommended to drive by yourself. Pingtan Island is not small, and the distance between each scenic spot is more than 10km. The public transportation on the island is not convenient. It is more efficient to drive yourself or charter a car after getting off the high-speed rail.
Of course, it is not recommended to drive into the vicinity of the Tear Point. You can rent a battery car to enter.
How to play in Pingtan?
_ Longwangtou
Longwangtou is one of the largest bathing beaches in the country, with a 9.5km long coastline and excellent beach quality. Not bad, it is the closest tear-viewing point to Pingtan city. You can play in downtown Pingtan during the day, and at night you can come to the nearby Dragon King Head to watch the Blue Tears.
The surrounding facilities of Longwangtou are also quite comprehensive, and the supporting facilities for younger people such as coffee shops and music cafes have gradually become more abundant. You can swim and ride the waves at the beach, or you can carry a tent and camp. It is also a perfect place to watch the sunrise in Pingtan.
If you like to catch the sea, Longwangtou is also very suitable. There is a group of rocks in the sea between the main beach and Hongyan Villa, which are only exposed to the sea at low tide. Every year during the fishing season, net fishing activities take place near the reef.
_ Yangtze River Ao
Changjiang Ao has a good ecology and less light pollution. It is easy to see the purest blue tears.
In addition, Yangtze River Ao is also very beautiful during the day. Windmills stand in an orderly manner on the seaside, which is beautiful and spectacular.
Compared with the liveliness of Longwangtou, the beach in Yangtze River Ou has fewer tourists and is quieter. It also has a stunning sunset + windmill landscape. Just take a group of Japanese photos.
Yangtze River Ao is right next to the Ring Island Highway, so you can go for a drive along the way. There are often cycling teams along the road, which is very chill and really has a Taiwanese style.
_ Dongmei Village
Dongmei Village is also one of the most frequented places for blue tears. On March 17 this year, the first blue tears appeared in Dongmei Village. So if you go in April or May, the chance of encountering it is quite high.
Dongmei Village is a very simple small fishing village, surrounded by mountains and sea. Fishing boats are moored at the port of the village, and three or two fishermen are returning from the sea in small boats. It exudes a quaint temperament. It is worth visiting and eating a cost-effective small seafood meal.
There is also the Xianrenjing Scenic Area next to Dongmei Village. It is a natural sea cave. Looking from top to bottom, it looks like a huge well. One side is adjacent to the sea and one side is surrounded by a huge stone wall. Separated from the sea.
The sea breeze whips the well water against the cliff, and the deafening sound can be heard on the cliff. It is very magnificent.
_ Tannan Bay
The natural scenery of Tannan Bay is very good, and it is also a beach. Compared with Longwangtou, it is not inferior at all. It has blue sea, white sand and green forests. There are also bonfires lit on summer nights and there are plenty of activities, making it a great place for a family vacation.
At the same time, it has a 22km long coastline, surrounded by hills, reef islands with rich layers, and a wide field of vision. If blue tears appear, the scene will be very spectacular.
When you are tired and don’t want to go back, just rent a tent nearby and fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves.
_Houyan Island
Houyan Island is the closest place from the mainland to Taiwan, only 68 nautical miles away, so Houyan Island is also called the 68-nautical mile scenic spot.
The scenery on the island is no worse than the most beautiful road around the island, and the entire island is almost unobstructed, open, bright, and a little romantic.
Whether it’s a beachside trail or a reef scorched by the sun, there are good camera spots everywhere. Houkanjima recommends coming in the evening so you won’t be too exposed to the sun and you can catch blue tears on the spot.
