Canon SLR shoots night scenes in AV mode. How to adjust the specific parameters?

When shooting night scenes with Canon SLR, you need to get a clear night scene with depth of field.

1. Camera location. Putting the camera on a tripod or other stable place is the basis for obtaining clear night photos. Because the light at night is much darker than during the day, if you want to achieve normal exposure (even if you set high iso exposure), you need to open the camera shutter for a long time, so you can't shoot with a hand-held camera. Usually, when the shutter speed of the camera is slower than1125 seconds, the shooting mode of the hand-held camera will easily lead to different degrees of blur in the photos.

Shutter damping. When the camera is placed on a tripod or other stable place to shoot, in order to avoid the photo confusion caused by the vibration caused by pressing the shutter by hand, the shutter is usually operated by releasing the cable; If there is no "cable release", you can use the "delayed shooting" function of the shutter instead, and it is better to set the delay time above 5 seconds.

Iso sensitivity. Because the camera has been placed on a tripod or other stable place, the iso exposure setting should be lower. Shooting at night is mostly in low light conditions, and photos are prone to produce too much noise. If the iso exposure is set higher, the noise generated by the photo will be more obvious, which will greatly reduce the delicate feeling of the photo.

2. Aperture setting. In fact, the factors that affect the depth of field are not only the aperture value, but also the length of focal length and the distance from the subject. As far as the aperture size is concerned, in the AV priority shooting mode, the aperture value can be freely set to 8~ 16, and an ideal large depth of field effect can be obtained.

Supplementary answer:

When there is no tripod, you can put the camera on a flat place such as a table, stool and wall. However, you must pad the camera with hard objects to avoid vibration when the camera shutter is opened and closed, and hold the camera shoulder strap with one hand to prevent the camera from accidentally falling.

High iso exposure can't replace the tripod needed for night photography, and it will also multiply the noise of photos, obviously affecting the visual effect of photos.
