Is Cambodia safe and worth going to?

Cambodia is not very safe, but you can still take short trips.

Sihanoukville 1

Sihanoukville was renamed by Kampong Som in 1993 according to the name of the king at that time. Sihanoukville is located in Kampong Som Bay in southwest Cambodia, 232 kilometers away from Phnom Penh. It is the only seaport city and seaside resort in Cambodia. Aochedie Beach is the favorite beach of local people, and of course it is also the favorite beach of tourists. There are many special bars and restaurants along the beach. You can swim in the sea and play beach volleyball.

2. Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the capital of Siem Reap province in Cambodia, with a population of about 85,000. In recent years, the tourism industry in Siem Reap has developed rapidly, thanks to its being the gateway to Angkor, one of the seven wonders of the world. Siem Reap is the only and most important stop to visit Angkor monuments, with a history of 100 years. Villages in the suburbs of Siem Reap are distributed in row houses and connected with the city center.

3. Preah Vihear

Preah Vihear Temple, located in the border area between Preah Vihear and Thailand, has a long history. The earliest history of the ancient temple can be traced back to the 9th century AD, and it was built by the monarch of the Khmer Empire. It was built from the middle of 10 century to the beginning of 12 century. It stands on a 550-meter-high cliff overlooking the entire Cambodian plain.

Due to its remote location and dangerous terrain, Preah Vihear Temple is quite well preserved. Preah Vihear Temple is located in the border area between Thailand and Cambodia, and both countries have historically claimed sovereignty over the area where the temple belongs.
