Expand knowledge:
A postcard is a card with an image written on it, which can be mailed directly without an envelope. Images can be photography, painting or design ... when posting, stamps with full face value must be affixed. There is an image on the front, the postal code, address and name of the recipient are written on the back, and what you want to say to the recipient is written in other areas.
The advantage is that you don't need an envelope, but the disadvantage is that there is little space and no privacy. What is written on the postcard is public and can be seen by others. The content usually does not involve concerns about privacy, so it is called a clear letter. Postcard postage is cheaper than ordinary letters.
According to the description of China Post, ordinary people can print postcards by themselves, but they are not allowed to mark "China Post". So many people will call postcards issued by post offices "postal currency cards", while private printers call them postcards.
Postcards have been published 130 years. According to historical records, one day in June of 1865, 10, a German painter drew a very beautiful picture on cardboard and prepared to give it to a friend as a wedding souvenir. But when he mailed it to the post office, the envelope sold by the post office could not hold the photo.
When the painter was in a dilemma, a postal clerk suggested that the painter write the address and name of the recipient on the back of the painting and then send it. Sure enough, pictures without envelopes were sent to friends like letters. In this way, the world's first self-made "postcard" was quietly born. From this perspective, postcards were invented by artists and postal workers.
In the same year,1October 30th, 165438, at a congress of the Deutsche Post Federation, it was suggested that for the convenience of writing letters, a letter that does not need to be sealed can be used. However, this proposal was not adopted because the delegates had different opinions.
