Bird Love Festival and Bird Love Week

From 198 1 to now, Bird-loving Week has gone through 2 1 year. Today, the prelude of Beijing Bird-loving Week has been kicked off in warm spring, and activities in other provinces and cities will be carried out one after another. We hope that through the publicity of Bird Love Week, people will know more about and care for the wild animals around them and protect our common home.

Birds and humans have been close friends since ancient times. Since human beings appeared on the earth, they have established a brotherly relationship with birds in the struggle for the survival and development of nature, and forged an indissoluble bond with birds in production and life.

In order to popularize bird-loving knowledge and improve people's understanding of bird protection, many governments in the world have stipulated bird-loving day, bird-loving festival or bird-loving week and bird-loving month according to their own seasonal climate.

198 1 the State Council approved the report "Request for Instructions on Strengthening Bird Protection and Implementing the Agreement on the Protection of Migratory Birds between China and Japan" issued by the Ministry of Forestry and other eight departments, requiring all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions to conscientiously implement it, and designated the week from April to early May each year as "Bird Love Week", during which various publicity and education activities were carried out. Due to China's vast territory and different climates in the north and south, the time of bird-loving week chosen by provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions is also different. As of 1983, 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have chosen the date of "Bird-loving Week".

All good things come from a free life. People can make a specimen of an inanimate bird or play a recording of the bird's call to people. However, all this can only be called the "shadow" of birds. ...

A New Way to Enjoy Nature-Bird Watching

Bird-loving week is coming! I suggest you go bird watching! Bird watching can make your life more colorful.

Have you noticed other birds in our life besides crows and sparrows? Have you found that the color of crow feathers is really pure black? Did you notice anything interesting about the birds around you? Since our family spent their spare time watching birds, we have discovered a lot of knowledge about birds in nature, and our life is more colorful than before.

First of all, we have a vivid picture in front of us. Every time we travel or go on a business trip, we always carry a small telescope with us, looking for birds at any time, observing their movements and listening to their calls. At this time, we found many lovely birds around us, not only crows and sparrows, but also big magpies, gray magpies, woodpeckers, eagles and swallows. Birds come and go with the change of seasons. In spring and summer, Swift sings happily and hovers in the air, and domestic swallows and golden swallows also fly in the air; Night herons come and go in droves in the high sky, and pond herons are busy foraging in rice fields; The leaf warbler in the tree is singing a cheerful song, and the big tit, the silver-throated long-tailed tit and the brown-headed duck are also contending without weakness; Gray-headed green woodpeckers and spotted woodpeckers are busy catching insects; The northern red-tailed silver carp (qú, silver carp [myna]) is small, with a long tail, a short and sharp mouth and beautiful feathers. Such as thrush, Qú yī (also known as "myna", with black body and slightly green luster on the back and head, who can imitate human speech); Draw beautiful figures of thrush eye, blue-tailed thrush threatened by red and blue songbird. In autumn and winter, groups of Taiping birds come to Beijing from Siberia, standing on tall branches in droves, singing in the sunshine and bringing wonderful "wind chimes" sound; Flocks of larks rise from the ground on the grass and fly directly into the sky; Gray cranes fly from the north with their children; Beautiful swans feed on the lake far away from the crowd and so on. With these lovely elves, nature is alive in our eyes. Once at home, I suddenly heard the sound of magpies coming from the yard, just like a chorus. What happened? We hurried out of the house, only to see dozens of magpies flying in a hurry and then flying back. At this moment, I saw an eagle flying in the air after being chased by them. The eagle was so tired that it just landed on a tree to rest. Before it stood firm, the magpie let out a cry and flew straight to it. The eagle took off in a hurry and escaped. This is a wonderful scene. We have witnessed with our own eyes that the weak animals in nature are bravely fighting the fierce eagle in order to defend their territory.

Observing birds for a long time, I also found that the survival of birds is closely related to the environment. In the spring of 2000, we went to Huairou Reservoir to watch birds. In the past, there were few wild ducks, beaked ducks, needle-tailed ducks and herons. Only ecstasy people use water for fishing everywhere. 1At the beginning of 999, we saw 1 1 endangered oriental storks foraging in Chaobai River, Shunyi, which has not happened in Beijing for more than 30 years, which made us very excited. It wasn't long before I learned that there were only four oriental storks left, and one of them had starved to death because of fishing in the upper reaches of the river. When we saw the remaining three standing listlessly on the dry river bed, sometimes flapping their huge wings, and sometimes barely taking off, our hearts were very uncomfortable. So many people spontaneously organized rescue, until spring, they flew back to the north with their own kind.

Many children often take part in bird watching activities, most of them are students in grade four or five, junior high school and senior high school. During the activities, children's love for animals was fully exerted, and at the same time, their ability to observe things was improved, and their good qualities of loving nature and caring for the environment were cultivated. In the first grade, my daughter watched birds with us. She not only learned to watch birds, but also learned a lot about plants, which made the knowledge in class concrete. After participating in Swift's "Huanzhi", he not only understood the significance of "Huanzhi" to bird research, but also learned the use of methods and measuring tools. 1997 During the Spring Festival, we made a bird's nest with waste wood. Her knowledge of geometry was applied to practice. She reads drawings, takes materials, uses tools and does everything by herself. We hung these nests next to the Ming Tombs Reservoir. The most interesting thing is that a bird's nest we made ourselves was chosen by a couple of northern red-tailed owls to give birth there, which made us very happy.

On the occasion of the annual Bird Love Week, we tell you about our bird watching experience, hoping that more people will pay attention to birds and their living environment, so that our life will be more exciting and children's life will be more enjoyable. (Sun Dazhen, member of Friends of Nature)
