The bone tuberculosis doctor at Golden Crown Hospital said that bone destruction , intervertebral space stenosis, and abscess formation are the three basic signs of adult spinal tuberculosis. Bone destruction: ① The lesions are mostly close to the top or bottom of the vertebral body. ② There may be bone hyperplasia and sclerosis around the damage focus. ③ There is dead bone in the damage focus, which is manifested as broken bones in the damage focus. Generally, it can be examined by CT. Intervertebral space stenosis: Narrowing of the intervertebral space is a sign of destruction of the intervertebral disc. This sign may be accompanied by blurring of the adjacent disc surface. It is worth noting that the normal lumbosacral intervertebral space can be narrow, but conversely, it is impossible to mistake the diseased lumbosacral intervertebral space narrowing for a mutation. If necessary, further CT examination should be performed. Abscess shadow: The abscess of cervical spine abscess and tuberculosis is manifested as a widening of the soft tissue shadow of the cervical vertebra. The abscess shadow of thoracic spine tuberculosis is mostly a shadow of parasoft tissue, mostly on both sides, and its longitudinal diameter is generally equivalent to 2 to 3 vertebral bodies. Abscesses caused by tuberculosis in the thoracolumbar, lumbar and sacral spine are manifested by widening of the psoas muscle shadow, and 100 to 300 ml of pus accumulation can be manifested. Calcification is another sign of abscess. It is rare to find calcification but a small amount of pus during surgery. Abscess can erode the front of the vertebral body. This phenomenon is more common in thoracic and lumbosacral tuberculosis, but may also be rare in lumbar tuberculosis.
It can be seen that the basic X-ray characteristics of adult spinal tuberculosis are a very important basis for judgment. Patients can conduct examinations according to their own conditions. Once diagnosed, please treat them in time to avoid delaying the condition. Timely treatment is the key The key to reducing patient suffering and timely treatment.
