Why can film record images of objects?
At present, the widely used film is coated with silver halide on the basis of polyacrylate film, and it is very soft and easy to use when rolled into a whole roll. When the light shines on the silver halide, the silver halide is transformed into black silver, which is fixed on the film base after the development process and becomes a black and white negative that we often see.
Silver halide is the photosensitive material of film, photographic gelatin is the carrier of silver halide, and silver halide forms a latent image after being irradiated by light (there is no image at this time, so it is called latent image), that is, silver atomic particles appear in silver halide.
After later development, it becomes the film we usually see (that is, the point where silver particles are formed is enlarged). In fact, long-term exposure of film also has such an effect. The color of the title is formed by long exposure (no development process).
According to the website of Asahi Shimbun, fujifilm said on the 6th that it would stop selling black-and-white films that have been on the market for more than 80 years.
The decision was made because the demand for black-and-white film is small, limited to professional photographers and enthusiasts, and the sales volume is difficult to make up for the production cost. At present, black-and-white film has been discontinued, with domestic sales in Japan ending at 5438+ 10 in June this year, and overseas markets stopped selling in turn.
It is reported that the production and sales of black-and-white film began at 1936, and it has a history of more than 80 years. During the period of rapid economic growth in Japan, with the development of photo culture, black and white film became the main commodity.
After that, color photos and digital cameras rose, and the sales of black and white films dropped sharply. At present, the scale of black-and-white film in Japanese domestic market is less than 1% of the peak value of 1965, and only two products, 135 36 "and 120 12", are reserved.
