The secret of improving photography quality: appropriate camera shooting position and parameter setting.

The camera is used to create visual enjoyment, not to hit walnuts in self-defense when encountering gangsters, so its equipment and parameters have a great influence on the quality of taking pictures. Let's see how it behaves.

Shooting background:

Indian students

20 13, 165438+ 10 month, 2 1. Students from Kejulaho Lu Yu, India.

Shooting parameters:

Body: Leica M-Monochrom

Lens: Summilux-M 50/ 1.4 ASPH

ISO:400

Aperture: F 10

Shutter speed:11000s.

The first one:

The shirt is partially disintegrated.

The first photo was taken near two classmates. The aperture is relatively large, but the background is still a bit messy. The sunshine was too strong, which caused some shirts to burst, mainly because the faces of Indian children were darker.

The second one:

Reduce the aperture by one notch.

Squat down a little and shoot again, and the aperture will be reduced by one notch. After playback, it is found that although the background is clean, the parallax of the view is obvious (the common problem of paraxial cameras is not as good as SLR), and the shirt is still exploded.

The third one:

Narrow double aperture shooting

After correcting the parallax, we can directly reduce the double aperture to get a satisfactory picture.

The fourth one:

The artistic conception of the picture has changed.

When preparing to finish filming, the teenager in front suddenly closed his eyes (without blinking), probably to avoid the strong sunshine. This made the mood of the picture change subtly, so I pressed the shutter again to finish shooting.

The shooting time before and after the four pictures is thirteen seconds. This is the original film. In the end, the first one only highlights the dark part slightly in the later period, and cuts off a little railing exposed in the lower left corner.

IPA20 13 annual single photography award

This picture was later shortlisted for IPA's 20 13 single photography award.

The following is a reference picture, which was taken by my husband. He didn't take it seriously, just to attract the children's attention and make it easier for me to shoot, and to avoid me from entering the painting, the camera kept tilting to the left.

Shooting parameters:

Body: Leica m

Lens: Summicron-M 28/2 ASPH

ISO: 100

Aperture: F 16

Shutter: 1/60s

The first one:

shrink

The second one:

amplify

The third one:

Expression change

This set of pictures is the most commonly used perspective. Start shooting as soon as you see the subject, stand up, avoid the middle composition, and move back and forth slightly to make the picture as simple as possible.

In a sense, there is no difference between the two sets of pictures. They were photographed almost at the same time, showing the state of two local teenagers at that time. Although the first group looks more concise, the second group shows more information: complete school uniforms and lunch boxes with meals. It doesn't matter whether you like the first group or the second group. This example just shows:

Choosing the shooting position is one of the most important photography skills. In the same environment, there can be a variety of shooting parameter combinations, and clear photos can be taken. As far as the second group of pictures is concerned, the effect of shooting directly with mobile phones will not be too bad.

No photography textbook can teach you how to stand, but the influence of shooting position on the final expressive force of the picture is far greater than those parameters that the camera can record, and it also deeply affects the picture style of every photographer. When you are ready to shoot, you must remind yourself that your initial position is not necessarily the best position, and the position people like is not necessarily the best position. Not sure where to shoot, any other shooting parameters can not be set accurately. No matter how good the camera and lens are, they won't tell you where to take better photos.
