Should news photography also make a fuss about the structure and use of light?

Several problems that should be paid attention to in news photography

News photography is photo news. Picture news is to use pictures to reflect news events.

Since pictures are used to reflect news events, the first thing this picture should tell readers is when, where and who happened. As for the cause and effect, it is difficult to show it in photos, which can be supplemented by picture descriptions.

Here I only talk about a few problems that should be paid attention to in news photography.

First, the form.

All pictures should be aesthetic. Aesthetic feeling has two basic elements:

One is composition. Every photo should have a theme, that is, the theme of news events, just like the hero of a story. Once the subject is determined, it is necessary to arrange the position for the subject. It's best to arrange the location in the same place as Huang Jinlv. Simply put, it is to draw TIC-tac-toe on a picture. The four points where TIC-tac-toe crosses are called attractive points of beauty. Generally speaking, the subject can be placed at any of these four points. Once the theme is decided, the rest will be easy. If the scene is large, you can consider a little foreground and vision to make the picture look deep. The scene is small, don't worry. The elements of the whole picture, including people and objects, should be basically balanced in the distribution of the picture. The distribution of these elements can form different triangles, circles or S-shapes. If there are many elements, the arrangement should have a sense of rhythm and music. When there is a horizon, it can be handled according to the two horizontal lines of TIC-tac-toe, either up or down, generally not in half, giving people the feeling of cutting a photo in two. If you encounter a tree trunk or a telephone pole, the picture from top to bottom must not stand up. This is also a split picture.

The second is to run out. Photography is painting with light. Without light, there is no photography. Photographic light is mainly divided into front light, backlight and side light. This is based on the light receiving surface of the illuminated object. For example, we want to take a portrait of a person. If the sun shines on a person's face, it is positive light. The back of the head is backlit. When it shines on people's ears and shoulders, it is sidelight. What light is used mainly depends on the subject, according to the requirements of the picture. Generally speaking, front light and side light are used more, especially side light, which has a good three-dimensional effect. Sometimes you need to use backlight to outline the image. When using backlight, pay special attention to using dark or black background.

Second, it is from the content.

To reflect news events with pictures, we should reflect news, importance, interest and authenticity. The so-called news is the latest, meaningful and unknown news events. We tell people what happened through news pictures; Importance is related to the national economy and people's livelihood. From the school's point of view, it is a major event related to the school's reform, development and stability and the future and destiny of teachers and students. The so-called interest is a news event that takes place on campus and is rich in humanities and life interest. The so-called truth means that the photos taken must be the reproduction of the real scene, not the fabrication of the reproduced scene by the organizer after the incident. In the pursuit of artistry and documentary, news photography pays more attention to documentary, so as long as a news picture can truly and objectively reflect news events, it will give people real visual impact and sensory shock.

Third, from a technical point of view.

Nowadays, most of us use digital cameras. An important indicator of digital cameras is pixels. Simply put, a pixel should be the number of points in a unit square of a photo. The more points, the higher the clarity and quality of the photos. The photos we are using in computers or newspapers should not be less than 3 million pixels. Otherwise it's not clear enough.

Every camera has an aperture and a shutter. Aperture is to adjust the amount of light entering the camera lens, and speed is to control the time of light entering. Now there are automatic exposure mode and manual exposure mode in the camera. If the automatic exposure mode is used, the camera will automatically select the best aperture and shutter combination according to the subject.

Select the manual exposure mode, which can be combined according to your own exposure requirements. If you combine yourself, there are two important points: first, don't use too slow speed without certain photographic experience, and the photo will be blurred if the camera shakes slightly; Second, for larger scenes, don't use too many apertures. Large aperture and small depth of field means that the clear range before and after the photo is small.

There are also two modes, aperture priority and shutter priority. Aperture priority, that is, manually adjust the aperture first, and the camera automatically adjusts the speed; Shutter priority means that the shutter is manually adjusted first, and the camera automatically adjusts the aperture.

As for some special techniques in photography, they are used more in artistic photography and less in news photography, so I won't talk about them here. What I'm talking about here is only the simplest and most practical.
