10 1 classic story of Zen: four wives

Generally, people who pursue money often have little stamina, so there are countless people who degenerate, indulge and enjoy themselves. And money and power are just foreign things. Foreign objects tease your heart, honor and compliment your normal heart. If you can't control it, you will become a slave to money or an indulgent bastard. No matter where you are, don't forget your original intention, and don't lose yourself in the contest between money and power. Today's Zen story, I hope everyone can gain something.

One day, Sakyamuni told several disciples a story: a businessman married four wives: the first wife was smart and lovely, and accompanied him everywhere; He stole his second wife from other places. She is particularly beautiful and enviable. The third wife takes care of his daily chores all day, so that he doesn't have to worry about life; Fourth wife is the busiest, but he doesn't know what she is busy with all day. He almost forgot her existence. The businessman wants to travel far and hard, and wants to choose a wife to accompany him.

The first wife said, "I'm not going with you. Go by yourself! " "

The second wife said, "You robbed me and I don't want to marry you, so I won't leave!" " "

The third wife said, "I can't stand the hardships of camping on the road. I'll send you to the suburbs at most!" " "

The fourth wife said, "No matter where you go, I will follow you because you are my master."

The businessman sighed: "At the critical moment, my fourth wife is still good!" "

So he and his fourth wife began a long journey.

Sakyamuni said, "Do you understand? These four wives are yourself! " The first wife refers to the body, which is separated from itself after death; Mistress refers to money. Many people work hard for money all their lives, but they can't take it away after death. It is nothing more than fishing for the moon in water. The third wife refers to her own wife, who lived together before her death and will still be separated after her death; Fourth wife refers to a person's nature. You don't care about it, but it will always care about you. No matter you are poor or precious, it will never betray you, it will always follow you.

Meditation: People's body, money and family relationships are carefully maintained and will eventually be separated from others. Only nature will always be with you and surround you. Therefore, no matter when and where, whether poor or rich, we should protect our own nature and always remember "who I am and what I want to be".
