How to shoot light painting photography?
Most subjects of light painting are shot in dark environment, usually outdoors or in darkroom at night. The darker the ambient light, the better the shooting effect.
2. Equipment preparation
Fix the camera with a tripod, select the shooting angle, illuminate the position you want to shoot with a light source and focus manually, and adjust the following parameters to shoot the ideal exposure value:
(1) shutter: choose to shoot with B-door or T-door as required;
② Aperture: commonly used F8~ minimum value;
③ISO: commonly used 100~800.
3. Start shooting:
(1) When writing in front of the camera lens, the words should be written backwards;
② In order to keep the line thickness of the light source as consistent as possible, it is necessary to make the luminous part of the light source always face the camera lens during the moving process. If you gradually deviate from the lens line, it will become thinner and thinner, and the line thickness is difficult to control, which requires more practice;
③ Don't let your body or other objects block the moving light source;
(4) Don't stay still for a long time when painting, which is easy to leave double images;
⑤ Positioning can refer to other objects, such as bushes and stones.
Extended data:
In light painting, people and cameras are in relative motion. You can choose two exposures and combine them, or "cure" the subject with a flash.
Set the flash synchronization mode to "front curtain synchronization" to make the flash illuminate the subject at the beginning of exposure; Then use long exposure to "capture" the trajectory of light painting.
It is best to "pre-focus" before shooting: use manual focusing mode to adjust the focus ring to a suitable position, or first illuminate the subject's face with a light source, and lock the focus after completing single-point focusing. This can at least ensure that the subject's face is clear.
By using different types and quantities of light sources, we can create more diversified light painting effects. You can also use intermittent flashing light sources (such as laser pens) to draw dotted lines.
If economic conditions permit, you can also use some higher-end "professional light painting equipment", such as pixel sticks, to create more professional light painting special effects. The so-called pixel stick is actually a "stick" composed of many small led lights arranged side by side. You can control each small light on and off independently, and some can even adjust the color.
In addition to "holding the light source in front of the camera", you can try some other shooting techniques. Other tools can be used to "help" you draw the light trajectory. For example, you can hang a small colored lamp on the ceiling fan and turn it.
You can also consider using the method of "explosive zoom": prepare a zoom lens with a large focal length range, adjust the zoom ring as evenly as possible, turn the light source in the background into a radial trajectory, and then "solidify" the main body with a flash.
