Documentary case photography analysis
In order to increase the sense of reality, Spielberg filmed the landing scene in the first 25 minutes of the film with a nearly documentary shooting technique. Before shooting, the plot was completely ignored, and most of the time, the hand-held camera was used to track the landing soldiers for close-up shooting.
In order to be faithful to the whole story and truly reflect the time when the story happened, Spielberg once again cooperated with janusz kaminski, the photographer of Schindler's List.
Run out:
Spielberg and Janusz Kaminski, the photographer of Schindler's List, collaborated again. Spielberg said that this film will be made into a color battlefield documentary, which will be shot on June 6th. 1944.
Therefore, kaminsky removed the protective mirror from the camera lens, making this modern camera close to the old one in the 1940s. Without the protective mirror, the light can directly enter the lens and be reflected, which is more dispersed and softer than before. At the same time, the photographer also carried out special treatment on the film negative to dilute the color, and finally formed the effect in the film.

Scene layout
Tom sanders, the set designer, and other staff members built a dilapidated French village and a small bridge at an abandoned British air base in Hatfield, which became the climax of the whole film. Saunders first made a three-dimensional model of a town, and then he cut it with a meat cleaver until the model became riddled with holes.
Story background:
This film is adapted from the true story of World War II. The protagonist of the story, whose real name is Fritz Nirlander, is a soldier of the US Army 10 1 Airborne Division E Company. He learned that his brother Bob of the 82nd Airborne Division was killed after E Company captured Kalentan Bay, and his other brother of the 4th Infantry Division was also killed in Utah Beach.
Soon after, the third brother was shot down and reported missing at the border of China, Myanmar and India in the same week (he was a member of the bomber crew). On the same day, Mrs. Hua Ni Lan received three telegrams saying that her son had been killed. Fritz was the only surviving son in the family, so the army ordered him to be sent back to China first.
