The 1.7 billion pixel panoramic map of the Milky Way has been released. What do you think after reading it?

The earth is our home for survival. This blue planet has given birth to countless lives. Human beings have also been able to thrive under the protection of the earth, and civilization and technology have emerged, all of which have benefited from it. The perfect living environment and abundant material resources on earth allow us to survive and develop. We still don’t know much about the space we live in, the solar system, the Milky Way, and the vast universe.

The Earth is a planet in the solar system, and the solar system is a very insignificant and small galaxy in the Milky Way. In such a vast universe, even the Milky Way is very small. From this point of view, the earth where humans live is even more insignificant. Even today with the rapid development of science and technology, all this is so new and unknown to us. The knowledge of the universe that humans have already learned is too insignificant.

There is such a photographer in Finland. He spent twelve years taking a complete picture of the Milky Way, which attracted the attention of many people.

After 12 years and 1,200 hours of shooting, Finnish photographers used 234 images to synthesize a flat map of the Milky Way with a pixel width of about 100,000 and a total resolution of 1.7 billion pixels. It is reported that the Crab Nebula, which is 11 light-years in diameter, only occupies a single point on this map. From this, we can see how much information this map covers. The Finnish photographer said this is the first image of the Milky Way shown in the three RGB color channels at this resolution and depth.

From this plane map of the Milky Way, we can see that there are many galaxies and nebulae in it. The densely packed galaxies are distributed in every corner of the Milky Way, which is shocking. And thinking that there are such a large number of galaxies, which are just a very ordinary galaxy in the universe, makes people deeply feel the vastness and mystery of the universe. The universe is so mysterious, and there are many unknown things waiting for people to explore and discover.
