Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The facility is located at Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, near Sydney Harbour Bridge, adjacent to Sydney CBD and Royal Botanical Garden, and between Sydney and Farm Bay.

By Danish architect j? Rn Utzon, the facility was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on1October 20 1973, and members of the British royal family attended the opening ceremony [3], which was brewed from Utzon 1957 as the winner of the international design competition. Under the leadership of Governor Joseph Cahill, the Government of New South Wales authorized the project to start at 1958, and Wu Cong directed the construction. The government's decision to build the Utzon design is often covered up by the subsequent circumstances, including cost and schedule overruns and the architect's final resignation. [4]

Although its name implies a single venue, the project consists of several performance venues, which together are one of the busiest performing arts centers in the world-more than 1 1,500 performances are held every year, with an audience of about 654.38+200,000. These venues produce and present a variety of internal works, and accommodate many performing arts companies, including four major resident companies: Australian Opera House, Australian Ballet, Sydney Theatre Company and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Australia, more than 7 million people visit the scenic spot every year, and 300,000 people visit the facility under the guidance of tour guides every year. [5][6]

This building is regarded as one of the most distinctive buildings in the 20th century and one of the most famous performing arts centers in the world. [7][8][9] With the support of the New South Wales Department of the Arts, this facility is managed by the Sydney Opera House Trust. On June 28th, 2007, Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. [ 10]
