By sensor, you mean flasher, right? Plug it into the flash hot boots of the camera, and it can send a signal to make the movie lights flash when taking pictures. There is a test button on this flasher. If you press it, the movie light should flash. If it doesn't flash, it is recommended to see if the battery in the flasher is dead.

The sensor of SLR camera refers to the imaging chip inside, also called CMOS, which is the core component of SLR camera and will not be easily damaged. If it's broken, you can't take pictures.
