How did Xitou Village become a tourist attraction?

Xitou Village was built in the late Ming Dynasty with a history of 450 years. This is the source of Liuxi River, so it is named Xitou Village. Before 2005, it was just an unknown mountain village. Through the exploration and word of mouth of the donkey friends, the reputation of Xitou Village is gradually known to tourists. The 30-kilometer tourist climbing route "Yinggu Line" has become a gathering place for climbers, and more and more people spontaneously come to Xitou Village to travel. However, the simple reception conditions here can't bear the increasing passenger flow. Conghua Tourism Bureau has realized that it is imperative to make tourism planning for Xitou Village.

In 2005, Conghua Municipal Government established the leading group office for the development of eco-tourism resources in Xitou Village. Taking the construction of Xitou tourist village as the starting point, the planning of Xitou central village, the implementation plan of environmental protection in Xitou village, the restoration design of Caijia ancient fort and the planning of Xitou village tourist base have been compiled with an investment of nearly 6.5438+0.8 million yuan. With an investment of about 5 million yuan, it has completed the construction of hardware facilities such as tourist routes, sewage drains, Jinzili Cultural Square, entrance square, ecological parking lot, Xitoushui Village, Xitoushi Lane and tourist signs, and integrated the lion elephant, yellow tea azalea, Xiyuan Valley, Tiger Falling Rock, Caijiagubao, Tianxi Youjing, Aoyuyueshui, Xitou Xue Hai and Liuxi Source.

Xitou Village is rich in "Sanhua Plum" and "Sugar Orange". Whenever fruit trees blossom and bear fruit, many tourists come here, and tourists, road trip and self-help tours composed of travel agencies "fill" the whole village. Relying on the beautiful landscape resources, it has become the practice base of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and regularly receives students to sketch here every year. With the development of rural tourism, Xitou Village has held a series of festivals, such as Mountaineering Festival, Photo Contest, Couplet Contest, the 6th Pear Festival and Sanhua Pear Festival, which attracted more than 3 million tourists from the Pearl River Delta and even the whole country.

It is understood that Xitou Village has become a national demonstration site of eco-rural tourism, and won the titles of "National 3A-level scenic spot", "Guangdong Healthy Village", "Guangdong Environmental Protection Ecological Civilization Demonstration Village" and "Guangzhou Civilization Demonstration Village".
