How much do readers know about books after reading Yunxiang Congmanuscript?

Wen | Jun Xin

Ten years ago, a bookworm friend recommended Deng Yunxiang's book to me. At that time, his works were not available in the bookstore, so I tried to read an electronic version of Water Clouds in the Book on the Internet. My eyesight was good at that time. I have neither floaters nor presbyopia. Go home from work every night and read a few pages in front of the computer. Thick books filled the cabin through the screen, which even made me feel refreshed ... Later, with the convenience of online shopping, I started with Yunxiang Dialect Book, Old Story of Cultural Ancient City, An Introduction to a Dream of Red Mansions and Yunxiang Notes. A roll in your hand adds a lot of comfort when you look at it.

But I have a question. I can't read Deng Yunxiang's book quickly. Because his books are for me, many of them are so-called strange books that I have never seen or even heard of. Reading books is naturally fresh and interesting, but it takes more effort to understand and digest them. And I have been reading Deng Shu with a learning attitude. How can I tolerate swallowing dates?

However, I recently read the manuscript of Yunxiangcong, and it took only half a month to read 300,000 words. Because I found a good method-reading aloud, which is conducive to concentration, even if I encounter something that is relatively brain-burning, it is not easy to be distracted. Just as I was gloating over the coup I invented, I accidentally read the article "The Words of Summer and Leaves" in the book:

In other words, reading aloud is a bridge between the author and the reader. Nothing more than drinking two cups of tea. Why not? So, I really finished reading Yunxiangcong Manuscript. The penultimate article in the book is "A Hundred Years Business Story". I watched the last paragraph three times in a row and couldn't help but burst into tears:

At the end of this paper, there is a note: the manuscript was completed in Puxi on1March, 997 10, and the water cloud is under the south window of Yanji Orfila. Yes, it's less than three years since 2 1 century, but Deng Yunxiang didn't wait-because he died two years later. He is not old, but he has linked countless writers and stories to readers. His contemporaries and even more forward-looking people uphold what Liang Rengong said: When I write, I have feelings, leaving behind words with feelings and temperature ... How can I not sigh?

The name of Deng Yunxiang's study is "Water flows like clouds", which is taken from Du Fu's poem "Water flows like clouds without dispute, and clouds care too late." He once said that it is a good and ideal artistic conception to look at the flowing water and the long white clouds. Now, the clouds have disappeared with the water ... Just opening the manuscript of Yunxiang Village and picking a few clouds is a gift to the Buddha and a memory.

? Pan and the Chronological Poetry of Gengxu Chunwei

In the imperial examination era, it would be a great honor if a child in the family passed the imperial examination. I remember Feng Zikai's prose about how his grandmother gnashed her teeth before she died until she learned that her son had won the bid. When I was a child, there was a shabby old house in my hometown called "Shi Jinshi Di". It is said that there are two scholars in this family. At that time, the imperial examination was long out of fashion. I don't know what a scholar is. I just looked at the faces of adults when they talked about this history, and I couldn't help admiring it. Later, after reading more books, I realized that it is impossible to say that several generations of father and son, families with prosperous families, can all produce champions, explore flowers, Hanlin, Jinshi and talented people. For example, Pan in Suzhou and Gui Pan in Pan Zuyin.

Before, my father, Pan, went from being a top scholar to a college student and adding a teacher named Prince, and then my nephew, Pan Zuyin, entered the military plane from Tanhualang to Shangshu of the Ministry of Industry. Pan was caught in the middle and had to "helplessly" disappear. Although not as famous as two generations, in fact, Pan is not ordinary. In the 21st year of Daoguang (184 1), he was a scholar. He used to be an official and assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry, and was good at poetry and painting. Pan was selected to be in charge of Wenheng twice, that is, he took part in the examination marking every three years, and selected the best talents from all over the country to become Jinshi. This is the most important talent training ceremony in China, in which Pan participated. So, can he be an ordinary person?

The first time was in Daoguang for thirty years (1850). Pan is the same examiner, that is, one of the teachers in Room 18, who is responsible for selecting and approving the examiner's papers, and then recommending them to the four directors and vice principals for decision. From March 6 to April 10, after reading the newspaper and filling out the form, Pan stayed in the hospital for more than a month. His "Poems of Gengxuchun Wei Ji Nian" reflects the tense, busy, glorious and happy mood at that time.

Deng Yunxiang chose a group of poems called "Campus Miscellaneous Poems", four of which are for readers. As a second-hand vendor, I chose two of my favorite poems, which are still fresh in my memory and have been treasured up to now:

Let's start with the previous song. If you don't know the anecdote in the test center, it's really hard to understand this "wonderful choice". Where is the beauty? It turns out that the examination papers written by candidates in ink and pen can't be directly shown to the examiner, and they must be copied with a pen, the so-called "Zhu Juan", before they can be sent to the examiner for review. So the examiner should write comments on the paper with a blue pen. As for the necessity of blue pen, there is another implication, that is, "shine on you is better than blue", which contains ardent hope for new scholars. Unexpectedly, it is such a delicate and meticulous pen!

The last song is about the paper boxes of those who failed the exam. Today's examiner studied hard at a cold window for ten years, and felt the same way when Sun Shan was ruined. So how can I not know your efforts and tears?

Through Pan's poems, we can get a glimpse of the corner of the imperial examination that was eliminated by the rolling historical torrent. Yes, it was inappropriate, but it did select talents like Zeng Guofan and Lin Zexu for the country. Especially the affection in the poem, it is kind and touching to read.

? Customized maps of Chen Shiceng and Peking.

Reading Deng Yunxiang's books, I often lament my ignorance. For example, Chen Shiceng, a famous painter, poet and epigraphy engraver in Beijing at the beginning of the last century, I only recently learned about him from the manuscript of Yunxiang Cong. But in fact, I have long known that his grandfather, Hunan Governor Chen Baozhen, was dismissed because of the "coup of 1898"; I also know that his father, a famous Jiangxi poet Chen, is often called "the old man"; More familiar is his younger brother, known as the "professor among professors" and historian Chen Yinque; As for Mr. Lu Xun, his informal best friend, Qi Baishi, a great painter whom he deeply knows and strongly supports, is not only known to me, but also to the whole world. However, around a circle, I still missed him, after all, I read less!

Mr Shi Zeng's name is Chen Hengke. He lost his mother in childhood and his wife twice in adulthood. His personal life is really unfortunate. However, he is an easy-going person in Wen Ya, and he is very popular among his friends. Chen Shiceng had three contacts with Lu Xun, from Nanjing Lushi Academy to studying in Japan and working in Beijing Ministry of Education. They have been old friends for more than twenty years. Mr. Lu Xun asked Chen Shiceng for a seal and a painting, which was informal; And Chen Shiceng for Mr. Lu Xun's embellished capital, is also not polite, accept all the orders. In addition, he has a group of scholars and friends who often see flowers in Fayuan Temple in Xuannan, such as Chen Shi's posthumous works, Huang Huiwen, Lin Zaiping and Mang Fu Yao.

Mr. Shi Zeng said to himself: In my life, painting is the best, Lanzhu is the best, followed by printmaking and poetry. Zhou Zuoren said in the "Chen Shiceng genre painting" section of Lu Xun's Story: "Chen Shiceng's paintings have been evaluated internationally, but we laymen have no opinion. From the time point of view, his paintings are inherited from Wu Changshuo, followed by Qi Baishi, but it seems to be higher than both because of bookish. " Unexpectedly, the layman actually saw the doorway.

Deng Yunxiang emphasized the uniqueness of Mr. Shi Zeng's paintings: "His paintings are creative and ideological, which other painters do not have."

Because of his bookish spirit, his thirty-four paintings of Beijing Custom Map are not bad even if they are called "vulgar". Because of his profound humanistic care, he painted the streets and alleys vividly and meticulously in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Just to name a few paintings, we can see: sugar-coated haws, picking up the poor, chrysanthemum bears, water splashing cars and rickshaws. But he, the son of a noble son and a "middle-level cadre" who has been abroad, can write for a group of poor people at the bottom without complaint. Can his good intentions not be touching?

To bring out the best in each other, there are also several literary friends who are closely related to Mr. Shi Zeng, who wrote poems and inscriptions for "Beijing Custom Map" so that future generations can clearly understand the social outlook at that time. For example, in "The Water Splasher", two people push a waterwheel and sprinkle water in the streets with a long-handled wooden spoon. Qingyang layman (He Binsheng) wrote:

Mang Fu Yao, who is a scholar in both lists and has experience in studying abroad, is even more generous-he filled in a word for each of the 34 paintings, entitled "Double? Me:

This is really elegant and popular! It's a pity that painters generally live a long life, but Mr. Shi Zeng only lived to 48 years old, and there will be no more works to be handed down from generation to generation, alas!

? Notes on Lu Xun and Peiping

The reason why I can't put down Deng Yunxiang's book is that there are always some "revelations" that I haven't heard of and that are not found in other books. Everyone is curious about gossip, and I am no exception. In the manuscript of Yunxiang Cong, this time through Hu Shi's diary, the shortcomings of a pair of brothers were exposed. Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren, the famous great writers, give people the impression that there are almost no books, and both of them have failed in the list, especially their younger brothers, who failed in the list three times. How difficult is the exam? Ladies and gentlemen, do you dare to despise scholars again?

Another accident was the Beiping Notes compiled by Mr. Lu Xun and Mr. Zheng Zhenduo. Mr. Lu Xun, who is famous as the flag bearer of China's new culture, is attached to one of the traditional cultures, stationery and woodcut painting. Recently, he is worried that "it may be sold out soon." So, Mr. Lu Xun, who was in Shanghai, made an appointment with his best friend, Mr. Zheng Zhenduo, and asked him to visit all the Nanzhi shops in Beiping Liulichang after teaching and buy exquisite and elegant stationery. Then one auditioned for manuscript editing in Shanghai, and the other contacted printing and publishing affairs in Beijing. After a lapse of nearly a year, I don't know how many times there have been emails between the two places, including 340 pieces of stationery, and the Beiping Notebook in six volumes has been published!

This incident contributed a lot to China's cultural undertakings; In the small room, it is also to rehabilitate the unknown, hard-working and skilled woodcut artists who carve water-printed paper, because in the catalogue of Beiping Annotations, the names of painters and sculptors are juxtaposed, such as "Four Flowers and Fruits, Chen Hengke Paintings, Zhang Qihe Engraving". This is our impression that Mr. Lu Xun, who often goes to fight and revolution, respects and cherishes traditional culture.

Yes, we haven't written for a long time, and stationery has long been an autumn fan. However, when we read Mu Xin's "Cars, horses and postal services are all slow", aren't we also moved? This may be the personal meaning of Beiping stationery. Culture has never been broken, not to mention those essence parts, although old, are still good things and worth cherishing.

Deng Yunxiang had a wonderful and slightly excited discussion about Beiping's musical notation:

Sidi is Mr Zheng Zhenduo's word. This book "Yunxiangji Beiping Historical Stories" has a subtitle: the 50th anniversary of Lu Xun's death. This article was completed in 1986, and 52 years have passed since the publication of Beiping Notes. Years are long, may beauty last forever and never fade. ...

? Chen Shengcong and Cultural Relics of Old Capital

Notes on Old Town Cultural Relics is not long, but it is very kind to read. In the first paragraph, Deng Yunxiang tells the story of his favorite book, and the reader's cuteness is vivid:

Ladies and gentlemen, are you also particularly curious about the precious book that Deng Yunxiang bought at a high price for fear of missing it? What is its origin? It was an old book of the Republic of China-A Brief Introduction to the Cultural Relics of the Old Capital, published in the winter of 1935, and edited by "Beiping Municipal Government Secretariat". There are more than 400 photos in this giant photo album, and more than 0/50,000 words of classical Chinese are interspersed among them. * * * Minute 12 Gate: city walls, palaces, temples, gardens, alleys, tombs, places of interest, canals and passes.

But in fact, this historical document of Beijing was originally compiled for the purpose of "helping tour guides". Under the auspices of lyna, the old mayor, several editors braved the heat to turn over books and take photos on the spot, which took five months to edit. But when the book went to press, the new mayor Qin Dechun took office. So, someone who is as easy as blowing off dust hangs the name of enjoying success.

This book makes Deng Yunxiang feel particularly cordial because of people. Ke Yan, the first confidential secretary to preface the mayor of Qin, used to be his teacher. Furthermore, Tang Yongtong, the younger brother of editor-in-chief Tang Yongbin, was the dean when he was studying at Peking University College of Literature. Finally, Chen Shengcong, one of the editors, met an unforgettable person in Shanghai. It's really a pity that they talked about their stories in Beijing ... besides, Mr. Chen Lao was still alive at that time. So, Deng Yunxiang got this precious book, and he forgot to go home. He went directly to his old friend's office and asked his old man to write an inscription. I don't need to tell you what it's like to see people and books again in fifty years.

Mr. Chen Shengcong's inscription said:

Originally, this book was printed, and besides the tour guide, it also had this profound meaning. That is when the war of aggression is about to spread from the Commissioner to the Commissioner. I think Chen Shengcong, as the confidential secretary of Mayor Yuan, should know something inside.

Chen Lao lived a long life, living to 9 1 year. He is still diligent in writing over eighty, and his spirit is commendable. In particular, Poems on the Pavilion, published by him at the end of last year, was rated as comparable to Poems on Chambers left by Chen Shi, a fellow countryman in Fujian. Deng Yunxiang lamented that he had a special fate with Fujian people. As a teenager, he was a tenant of Chen Bi, a descendant of the postal department in the late Qing Dynasty, and worked for more than ten years. As an old man in Shanghai, I had the opportunity to know Chen Shengcong, whose old books were inscribed by the original editor half a century ago. Is it worthy of an art story?

? postscript

There are many books written by scholars who moved me. There are about thirteen books in the list. If I take them all off, the length will be too long, which will make me tired. Therefore, I decided decisively that the person who took it entered this article; Why don't you hide and write another one tomorrow? They are all good things and should be treated equally.

Deng Yunxiang said that he and Fujian people have a unique fate. Although I can't speak Fujian dialect, the patriarchal clan is also a native of Fujian. Does it mean that Mr. Yun Xiang and I have a little fate? Haha, I'm kidding. But I really love reading his books, and I can't bring them out once I know them.

Still taking the article "A Hundred Years of Business Stories" as an example, Deng Yunxiang recalled that in the winter of 1954, after Qingliangshan in Nanjing, he saw Ci Yuan published by the Commercial Press, the editor-in-chief of this big dictionary, an old man in Fang Yi who was over sixty at that time:

Actually, Mr. Yun Xiang, I can imagine. Because when I read your work, I was also hit by "this is really like a Buddhist approaching", so that I deeply regret wasting my time. ...
