Where is the Xiangtian Tomb of the Yi people?

The Yi Xiangtian Tomb is located on the top of two hills in Guo Naiju, Alimi Village, Longgou Township, Guli District, Zhaojue County. It is about 7 kilometers away from the Guli Working Committee in the south and about 4 kilometers away from the seat of Longgou Township Government in the north. Judging from the cemetery and the surrounding topography, there are ditches on the north and south sides, the valleys and terraces at the foot of the mountain are used for farming, the beautiful Shuogalada is on the east side, and the magical Eagle Ridbo (Sitting Eagle Mountain) is on the west. The road from the county seat to the Guli Working Committee passes through it, and there are many mysterious legends here.

The Yi Xiangtian Tomb is a kind of ancient tomb distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan. Its shape can be roughly divided into three types: round, single round platform, and three round platform stacked pyramid. The latter is composed of three round platforms, large, medium and small. The top of the third platform is made of stone with a notch facing the sky. There are two types of single round tables. One is made of stone with a concave center facing the sky; the other is filled with soil. The tomb with a round ring facing the sky resembles a well railing, with the ring opening facing the sky. Therefore, they are collectively called Xiangtian Tomb. It is an observatory or astronomical observatory that is used for observing the stars. 》). The recently discovered Xiangtian tombs of the Zhaojue Guo'unai Ju Yi people are exactly the kind of Xiangtian tombs with a single round platform and a ring mouth facing toward the sky. Its structure and shape are very unique.

Guo Oh Nai Ju Yi’s Xiangtian Tombs, 8 of them were discovered, arranged from east to west.

Two were found on the top of a hill east of the highway. Tomb No. Μ1, with a diameter of 1.90 meters, was stolen in the early years. Tomb No. Μ2, 1.60 meters in diameter, is relatively well preserved. The tombs are all circular in shape, with the tomb opening facing toward the sky. It is speculated that before burial, a circular pit was dug on the ground, and several natural stone slabs were vertically embedded in the pit to form a circular tomb. The body, bones or ashes were buried in it, and then mounds of soil were used to form a circular burial chamber. The fort has its ring mouth facing toward the sky. Or before burial, a circular earth pit is dug on the ground, and a number of stone slabs are vertically embedded in the circular earth pit to form a circular tomb. Firewood for burning the corpse is piled in it, and then the corpse is carried on top to be burned, and finally filled with soil. Of. It was found that the filling soil was not full, and the ring opening was deliberately left to face the sky. The circumstances of the excavation are unknown as the tomb has not yet been cleared and excavated. The mound of tomb No. Μ1 has a diameter of 4.40 meters and a remaining height of 0.54 meters. The tomb wall is constructed of 7 stone slabs. The mound of tomb No. Μ2 is 3.70 meters in diameter and about 0.60 meters high. The tomb wall is constructed of nine stone slabs.

Six small similar graves were found densely distributed on the top of another mountain to the west of the highway. They were difficult to measure due to the deep green grass cover. The two cemeteries are about 100 meters apart.

The tombs here are extremely densely distributed. From the stone slabs of the tomb walls exposed on the ground, it can be seen that the overall structure of the Xiangtian Tomb on the west side of the highway and the Xiangtian Tomb on the east side of the highway are somewhat different. First, the two sky-facing tombs located on the east side of the highway are 2 meters apart, while the 6 sky-facing tombs located on the west side of the highway are all close to each other, with almost zero separation. It was even found that the stone slabs on the tomb walls were not used. . Second, the mounds of earth tombs facing the sky to the east of the highway are more obvious, and each of the two has earth mounds. It is not obvious that the six sky-facing tombs to the west of the highway are sealed with earth. Could it be that all six of the six sky-facing tombs were originally sealed with earth? We also found that the stone slabs constructing the tomb were simply trimmed from natural slabs and then vertically embedded in a circular pit to form a circular tomb. Then, the bones or ashes were buried and finally sealed with a mound of earth. No traces of processing were found on the stone slabs used to construct the tomb, and the stone slabs vary in size and thickness.

The Guo'unai Ju Yi Xiangtian Tomb has not yet been excavation. At present, the cultural preservation situation and specific cultural connotation of the tomb are still unclear, and the ethnicity and era of the tomb owner cannot be determined. Therefore, this cemetery is in urgent need of continued archaeological investigation and clearing and excavation.

Local Yi farmers nearby say that this place was the residence of Shamazmo in eastern Liangshan a long time ago, and it is called "Zmo Chihuo" (the cemetery of Zmo of the Yi people). . "Zimo" originally meant king, chief, leader, and later evolved into chieftain. "Chihuo" means cremation grave. It is also believed that this is the graveyard of Shamazimo before the eldest son of Azhini Ayi (the chieftain of An family) in Shuixi, Guizhou, succeeded to the throne. Judging from the natural environment and Feng Shui conditions here, it is a good place suitable for human living.
