In the afternoon, the exciting sports competition is finally about to begin. The first thing our fifth graders organized was the centipede race. The rules of the project are that there are 10 male and female students in each class, and the three classes are divided into two competitions. The contestants need to all squat down, put their hands on the shoulders of the person in front and then run to the designated position. Rank in order. This is the only project I signed up for. It was time to prepare for the competition, and the arena was surrounded by water. The players from the three classes also squatted down and took their places, pricking up their ears and preparing to listen to the physical education teacher's order. I looked at the track and oh my God! So long! A full 10 meters! I couldn't help but feel very nervous, and my hands began to sweat a little.

"Shh-" The physical education teacher blew the whistle and the game started. Three big centipedes crawled hard amidst the thunderous cheers and slogans of "Left, right, left, right...". Halfway through the climb, I gradually ran out of energy, and beads of sweat were already dripping from my head to the ground. I looked at the classmates around me again. They were all tired and out of breath, but they were all trying their best to persevere. The big centipede from Class 2 saw this opportunity and took the lead, surpassing the Big Centipede from our class and Class 3 and won the championship. Next, the students in Class 3 saw Class 2 win the championship and were very unconvinced. They crawled harder and surpassed us little by little. We didn’t want to get third, so we pushed forward desperately. But after all, their physical strength was limited, and they didn't spend much time practicing, so Class 3 took advantage of it and won second place by one second. We are third.

Next is the centipede competition for girls. The members of the three teams had serious expressions and clutched the shoulders of the people in front of them. "Hush -" the whistle sounded again. I saw the girls in our class sprinting at a speed of 100 meters to get ahead of the other two centipedes, gradually widening the distance from the other two teams, and in the end the difference was nearly one meter! I couldn't help but hold my breath, watching the girl in my class, Centipede, getting closer and closer to the finish line. Yay, the end is here! First place! The whole class cheered loudly.
