Qijiang County is located at the southeastern junction of the Sichuan Basin and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It connects Wansheng District to the east, Tongzi and Xishui in Guizhou to the south, Jiangjin District to the west, and Banan District to the north. An important node on the "channel", known as the "South Gate of Chongqing", the county governs 19 towns, 314 villages, 50 neighborhood committees, and 2,639 villager groups, with an area of ??2,182 square kilometers and a population of 950,000, of which 292,000 are urban residents.
