With the continuous improvement of modern teaching equipment, multimedia teaching, as a new way of education, is increasingly favored by Chinese teachers in middle schools. Multimedia teaching means that in the teaching process, according to the characteristics of teaching objectives and teaching objects, through careful teaching design, modern teaching media are reasonably selected and applied, and various media information acts on students to form a reasonable teaching process and achieve the best teaching effect. Then, how can middle school Chinese teachers flexibly use multimedia to teach? The author talks about his own views.

First, use multimedia teaching to cultivate students' interest in learning Chinese. Confucius, a great educator, said, "Knowing is not as good as being kind, and being kind is not as good as being happy." This fully shows the importance of interest in the process of human learning. In order to improve the teaching quality, Chinese teachers in middle schools must first cultivate students' interest in learning. So how to cultivate students' interest in learning? Multimedia teaching provides a good way for teachers. Teachers can use multimedia in the teaching process to concretize and visualize the abstract Chinese knowledge in books. Using multimedia video and audio to make various Chinese courseware can enliven the classroom atmosphere and stimulate students' interest in knowledge. For example, in the teaching of "Who is the cutest person", we can use multimedia to play some scenes of the People's Liberation Army's flood fighting and disaster relief, so that the knowledge of "death" in books becomes vivid. Students are purified by visual impact and are more willing to understand the description of soldiers in textbooks, so they will actively participate in the whole teaching process. This intuitive teaching can not only increase knowledge, but also cultivate students' interest in learning Chinese.

The second is to use multimedia teaching to enliven the classroom atmosphere and let students take the initiative in learning. Multimedia teaching has become an important teaching method in modern education. Compared with the traditional teaching mode, it can enliven the classroom atmosphere. In the teaching process, teachers can search related pictures and video materials on the Internet according to some scenes or events mentioned in the article, and make audio-visual courseware to play. Let the students read the text with emotion while watching, feel the exquisite language in the article, and then let the students communicate with each other in groups to actively explore the mystery of Chinese knowledge. Through this appropriate guidance, the classroom atmosphere will be active and students will learn knowledge in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. In the whole teaching process, teachers must regard students as the main body of learning. Once students become the main body of learning, they will seriously think and speak actively in the process of learning, and the teaching efficiency will be greatly improved.

The third is to create various teaching situations by using multimedia to cultivate students' thinking ability and innovation ability. In the daily teaching process, using multimedia to create various teaching situations that students like, so that students can enter the classroom with relaxed, happy and curious psychology, which can stimulate imagination and thinking space and improve their ability to find and solve problems. For example, when talking about the text "Little Orange Lamp", the author plays all kinds of pictures about this article with slides, accompanied by lyric music, so that the story in the text is closely combined with the picture music, attracting students to enter the role, stimulating students' imagination, allowing them to spread their imagination wings, guess the development of the story and express their understanding and views. Through the application of multimedia teaching, students' thinking ability, innovation ability and language expression ability have been greatly improved.

The application of multimedia teaching has brought fundamental changes to Chinese teaching. It fully mobilized students' learning enthusiasm, cultivated students' interest in learning Chinese, enabled them to acquire knowledge in a pleasant atmosphere, broadened their horizons, enhanced their imagination, and improved their innovative thinking ability and independent inquiry ability.
