I am planning to go on a free trip to Thailand with my friends in early September. Since it is my first time to go abroad, I don’t know what to pay attention to, and I also recommend some routes. seven days

First of all, the most important thing is to pay attention to safety. Before I traveled with Qingyi travel friends, I also paid attention to safety issues. I found a guide from Qingyi online for route planning. I hope you have a pleasant trip~

< p>Itinerary:

There are many places I want to visit in Thailand. There are Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, and Pai in the north of Thailand, and Phuket, Koh Samui, and Krabi in the south. , Phi Phi Island, central Thailand includes Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Hua Hin, Pattaya and other places. The time was limited, only 8 days, so I planned and planned, and finally decided on the route of Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai-Pai County-Bangkok, which is mainly in northern Thailand. The detailed arrangement is as follows:

D1 (4.26 ): Tianjin Binhai Airport-Xiamen Gaoqi Airport-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport-NCA Station (Mochit)-Chiang Mai

D9 (5.4): Xiamen Gaoqi Airport - Tianjin Binhai Airport

Preparation before departure:

< p>Visa in Thailand is now a visa on arrival. In order to save trouble and avoid unnecessary time wasting at the airport, I applied it in China first. All major travel websites, such as Moubao, have this service. The cost is about 260 yuan. You only need to provide your passport and photos. It takes about a week, which is very convenient. The visa is valid for 90 days and the stay is 59 days.

Insurance You still need to buy insurance when traveling abroad. I bought it from Kaibao.com, the Allianz Antu Asia Travel Insurance Short-term Plan. The insurance period is 1-7 days and the cost is 70 yuan.

The currency in Thailand is Thai BTHB, and 1 yuan is about 5B. I exchanged 5000B at the Bank of China in China. The exchange rate at that time was: 1 yuan = 5.02B. Don't know why,.

In Thailand, it is recommended to exchange at the green Super Rich, and you need to show your passport. There are them at Thapae Gate in Chiang Mai and at subway stations in Bangkok. The exchange rate I got for exchanging children's shoes from Guangzhou at the NANA subway station in Bangkok was much better than that here in Tianjin. The exchange rate there was 1 yuan = 5.2B, which is really bad. There are many, the exchange rate is: 1 yuan = 5.13B; you can also withdraw money from local ATM machines. It is said that the purple ones have a higher exchange rate, but no matter what bank card, the handling fee is 50B. I withdrew 2000B from an ATM in Pai County. The exchange rate at that time was: 1 yuan = 5.28B.

Another thing to note is that Thailand requires each person to carry 2W Thai B in cash or equivalent foreign currency. The immigration management personnel will conduct random checks, but they are rarely checked, so I was not checked. Due to various worries related to the repatriation of a large number of tourists years ago, I finally brought enough cash and only spent a small part of it, most of which was brought back home.

Language Knowing that I am going to Thailand alone, the biggest concern of my friends is the language problem. "You don't know Thai and your English is so bad. How will you communicate when you get there?" My answer is to laugh it off. . Thailand's tourism industry has developed rapidly in recent years. In tourist cities such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Pai, small businessmen and hawkers can speak some basic English, but unlike European and American countries, everyone speaks fluent English. So when I arrived in Thailand, I wasn't worried. My English wasn't very good, and neither were theirs. As long as I could come up with a few key words, it would be fine. Use your body language skillfully, keep a smile on your face, and install translation software on your phone, and you will have nothing to fear. Translation software: Youdao Translator (can take photos), Express Translation (available in Thai).

Shopping consumption in Thailand is relatively low, so you must bring some cosmeceuticals and snacks. Make a strategy in advance and make a list.

Voltage

The rated voltage in Thailand is 220V. Most hotels and B&Bs have two-pin flat plugs, so there is no need to bring a converter. If it really doesn’t work where you live, 711 will sell them.

APP

Date with: 16th Fan/Pick up People/Sina Weibo, I found a girl I met in 16th Fan, and the two of them played together for a day Chiang Mai, let’s go back to Bangkok again

Guide: Mafengwo/Sixteenth Fan/Eat, drink and have fun in Chiang Mai. I have always used Mafengwo as a pre-trip guide. It is very comprehensive and practical; when doing the guide this time , I found that Shiliufan did a very good job in some details. For example, the transportation guide from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is very detailed.

Map: Google Maps/Chiang Mai Chinese Map/Dianping. Google Maps is very practical and can locate many places. However, it cannot be used in China and can only be used abroad. Download it in advance; Chiang Mai The Chinese map is great. It contains popular places such as attractions, hotels, and restaurants. You can locate them in real time, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. Dianping can be used to search for food, which is a must-have for foodies.

Communication

I bought a local happy phone card for 38.5 yuan, which provides unlimited Internet access for 7 days, and can make 70 minutes of calls to Thailand and 90 minutes of domestic long distance calls. Be sure to note that the happy card is suitable for the phone model. The network frequency of the happy card is WCDMA850 and supports the GSM850/1800/2100 frequency band. Telecom and mobile customized/contracted phones cannot be used. Other versions of smartphones are basically applicable as long as the parameters indicate that they support WCDMA 850. If the parameter does not indicate that it supports WCDMA 850, but it does indicate that it supports GSM 850/1800/2100, it can also be used, but you can only enjoy the speed of GPRS/EDGE when surfing the Internet. If you are like me and feel confused when looking at these parameters, you can directly communicate with customer service and be sure to confirm whether your phone can be used. The mobile phone I was using was a Redmi mobile version, but it couldn’t be used. I ended up trading it with a friend.

Others

Electronics, documents, daily necessities, and clothing can be carried according to personal needs. If you are afraid that you will forget to bring essential items, it is best to make a list and check them item by item before departure.

Transportation:

Air tickets

When I was making a guide, I saw that many netizens recommended AirAsia, but after looking at websites such as Qunar and Ctrip, it was found that flights from Tianjin to Bangkok were Air tickets are really not cheap, and cities in the south, such as Shanghai and Guangzhou, are too cheap. If you are in the north, you can only look at other airlines. The direct flight with China Airlines is more expensive; the transfer flight is cheaper, either to Xiamen or to Hong Kong and Macau. Considering the time and cost, I finally booked a round trip from Tianjin to Bangkok on Ctrip.com, with a transfer to Xiamen, for a cost of 2,384 yuan.

4.26 Tianjin-Bangkok, 8:20 Tianjin Binhai Airport-10:40 Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, 15:00 Xiamen Gaoqi Airport-17:25 Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Domestic Transportation

1. NCA Car (Bangkok and Chiang Mai)

On land flights in Thailand, the seats can be folded flat and are very comfortable, and the VIP seats also come with massages. , drinks and snacks will be given out as soon as you get on the bus and the next morning, so you can sleep comfortably until the end. Taking a car at night saves accommodation fees and time. It can be said to be the best choice from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. The NCA station is near the BTS Mochit station. From the airport, you can take a taxi, bus, or express train. My plan is: take the Airport Express to PHAYATHAI station (Phaya Thai), then transfer to BTS to the last stop, MOCHIT, and then Take a taxi to NCA station.

NCA bus class and fare:

NCA First Class: VIP, the whole bus has 21 seats. The fare from Chiang Mai to Bangkok is 837 Thai B.

NCA Gold Class: First class, more than 32 seats in the car. The fare from Chiang Mai to Bangkok is 628 Thai B.

NCA Silver Class: second class, 40 seats in the car

NCA Economy Class: economy, 47 seats in the car

I made a reservation online in advance , the ticket booking website allows you to choose your own seats. After payment, print out the receipt, take the receipt and go directly to the station to get on the train. The tickets I booked will depart in the evening and arrive in the morning.

①Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Gold Class first class, time 21:00-6:20, about 9 hours, cost 628B, equivalent to RMB 126.

② Chiang Mai to Bangkok, First Class VIP seat, time 22:30-7:35, also a 9-hour drive, cost 837B, equivalent to RMB 167.

2. MINI BUS (Pai County, Chiang Mai)

The most convenient way to travel to and from Pai County in Chiang Mai is the mini bus. To go to Pai from Chiang Mai, you can go to the ticket window at the Chiang Mai long-distance bus station. There are many buses to Pai every day. They can leave immediately and are relatively fast. The ticket costs 150B, which is equivalent to about 30 yuan in RMB. It is more convenient to book where you live, and the price is not much more expensive, 180B. Choose a time and wait for the car to pick you up.

The car will arrive at Aya Station in Pai County, which is the largest motorcycle rental point in the central city. You can rent a motorcycle directly and ride to the hotel, which is what I did; when returning to Chiang Mai from Pai County, I also go to Aya Station, the only bus station in Pai County. The ticket price is 150B. It is recommended to buy the return ticket on the day you arrive in Pai County, and estimate the time well so as not to be late. The driver of the bus I took was super nice and dropped us near Tha Pae Gate so we could stroll back to the hotel.

3. Transportation in Chiang Mai City

There are many transportation options in Chiang Mai. Taxi, Tutu, songthaew, rental motorcycles, and bicycle rentals. Songthaew is the most popular. It's common, and the price is relatively cheap. You can stop as soon as you wave, and you can negotiate a good price and get on the bus.

① Taxi is not common in Chiang Mai. I have hardly seen one after three days of shopping here. There should be one at the airport and in big hotels. The price is probably the most expensive. It is not recommended.

②Tutu is a motorcycle tricycle. I can drive it. It is a common type of taxi in the local area. It is quite common in the ancient city and the price is more expensive than a songthaew.

③A songthaew should be regarded as a local bus. There are two rows of seats facing each other in the car. The most common one is the red songthaew. Just wave and stop. First communicate with the driver where you want to go, negotiate a price to get on the bus, pay per person, and pay when you get off. If you want to get out of the car temporarily, you can press the bell inside the car. 150B from NCA Station to the hostel in the ancient city, 30B from Tha Pae Gate to Nimman Road/Chiang Mai University, 50B from Chiang Mai University to Doi Suthep (about 40 minutes), 70B from Doi Suthep to the ancient city (Note: You cannot go to Doi Suthep Temple) Rent tutu, only songthaew).

④ Renting a motorcycle: A motorcycle driving license is required. If you are not caught, you will be fined. It costs 100-250 Thai B per day depending on the model. There are many cars in the ancient city, and the road conditions are complicated and unfamiliar. It is not recommended to rent a motorcycle if you are not an experienced person.

⑤ Rent a bicycle: There are many shops in the ancient city where you can rent bicycles for 50 baht per day (based on 24 hours). The place where I rented a car required a passport and no deposit. Ningman Road is not very far and you can ride a bicycle there. It is very pleasant to ride a bicycle and visit the ancient city and Ningman Road. It is cheap and convenient. I highly recommend it.

4. Transportation in Pai County

The attractions in Pai County are relatively scattered. More than 90% of people choose to rent motorcycles. The largest car rental point is AYA. As mentioned before, one day The cost is 140B, insurance is 40B, and 50B of gasoline is added, which is enough for one day.

5. Transportation in Bangkok

The four most commonly used modes of transportation in Bangkok are BTS light rail, MRT subway, Chao Phraya River cruises, and taxis.

① BTS (Bangkok Mass Transit System Skytrain)? The signs are very clear. As long as you have taken the light rail or subway in China, you can easily get there without worrying. BTS has two lines, Silom Line and Sukhumvit Line, which can be transferred within the station. Passing through major shopping spots and connected to the Airport Express, it is very suitable for a day shopping trip. Get off at Siam for the shopping mall; get off at Mo Chit for the weekend market (exit 1 and walk 100 meters); go to Phaya Thai at the airport and change to the Airport Express; take the Silom Line at the Grand Palace, exit 2 at Saphan Taksin Station, and then take the Mae Mae The Chao Phraya Express Boat disembarks at Ta Chang Pier (No. 9); take the Silom Line to Chinatown (China Town), Exit 2 of Saphan Taksin Station, and then take the Chao Phraya Express Boat at 5 Tha Ratchawongse disembarked.

BTS does not have manual ticket sales. There is a window for changing change, and the ticket price is 15-40B. The self-service ticket vending machine is also easy to operate. There is a fare chart next to it, indicating the price from the current station to the destination station. Press the corresponding price and insert a coin, and the ticket will be spit out. The use of tickets is the same as the domestic subway. If you have never taken the subway, just stand on the edge and watch how others use it. You can also buy a One Day Pass for 120B, which provides unlimited rides on the same day.

②The MRT (Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority) passes through fewer scenic spots/shopping malls and is not as convenient as the BTS. The fare ranges from 15 to 40B. Purchase it at the automatic ticket vending machine (1, 5, 10B accepted coins, as well as 20, 50, and 100 banknotes), easy to operate. BTS and MRT are two independent systems. At interchange stations, you have to exit the subway and buy a new ticket to enter BTS.

③Chao Phraya Express Boat? Because there is no rail transit next to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Chinatown, taking a boat has become the best mode of transportation.

There are currently 5 routes in operation on the Chao Phraya River. They can be simply divided into five types of boats, Local Line (used by locals and stopping at every stop), Orange Flag Boat (with an orange flag on the bow), and Green Flag Boat (boat There is a green flag on the bow), Yellow Flag Boat (there is a yellow flag on the bow) and Chaophraya tourist boat (blue flag). The difference is that the stops are different, the operating hours are different (note that it is basically around 19:00 in the evening), and the fare different.

④Taxi can go to almost all the places you want to go, but you are afraid that the driver will be unkind and make detours for you, delaying your time and charging you more. Also, Bangkok is a famously congested city, especially during the morning and evening rush hours, so children who take taxis should be cautious. However, I did meet a very nice taxi driver who drove very fast without taking any detours, allowing me to catch the NCA trip to Chiang Mai in time.
