Instructions for handling tourist visas and student visas in Thailand

Tourism in Thailand has always been deeply loved by everyone. Thailand has a developed entertainment industry and friendly people, so many people yearn to study in Thailand. So what do you need to know to apply for a tourist and student visa in Thailand? Let's take a look now. Welcome to reading and understanding.

The Immigration Bureau of Thailand reported on July 3 1 that since August 29, the Immigration Bureau will enforce the directive 327/2557, and the maximum validity period for applying for a tourist visa to Thailand is 30 days. A tourist visa can be renewed once for more than 30 days, and the renewal time shall not exceed 30 days. As a tourist to Thailand, the total time of a single trip in Thailand does not exceed 60 days. This decree will apply to 43 countries around the world, and the implementation of this directive will better crack down on those who have been working illegally in Thailand for a long time and have stayed in Thailand for an overdue period. The era of tourist visas working in Thailand is over. Multiple tourist visas will be refused. Tourist visas signed more than twice a year will be strictly investigated.

In addition, two new penalties have been added. The Thai National Police asked the Immigration Bureau to step up the inspection of foreigners' passport and visa information. When immigration officials check a foreigner's passport, if the foreigner fails to show his passport in time or obtain a valid visa, he will be punished with two years' imprisonment or a fine of not more than 20,000 yuan.

In view of the visa problems recently encountered, Major General Tisada Su Raceta Peng, Director of the Border Inspection Department of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, gave the following reply.

One: Have all students in language schools stopped signing contracts now?

Police Major General Tisada Surace Tafeng stressed: First of all, I want to explain the definition of student visa. Universities in Thailand are mainly divided into public and private. These universities are certified by the Ministry of Education and have statutory benefits. If you are studying in a university, the university will issue a certificate to apply for a student visa for its students. Students in regular language schools can still apply for visas normally, but illegal workers are not allowed to use them.

The other is a language school, which mainly focuses on language learning. Language schools can apply for a student visa for three months as long as they are certified by the Ministry of Education. After three months, if necessary, it can be renewed for three months, and the total time of learning a language in Thailand should not exceed one year. It is believed that the reason why the Immigration Bureau cancelled the visas of language schools is because most language schools have not been certified by the Ministry of Education, and some foreigners who come to apply for student visas come to Thailand to work hand in hand.

When a foreigner is found working in Thailand with a student visa, we will send him back to his country of nationality and conduct a strict investigation of the language school that handles his student visa.

Two: Why have many people recently reported that language students can't enter the country with visas?

Major General Tisada Su Raceta Peng: As long as the student visa has been approved by the Thai Embassy in China or the Thai Immigration Bureau, there is no problem in entering and leaving Thailand. Unless some students with student visas have bad passport records, they can enter and leave Thailand normally.

On the other hand, border guards will also check the entry and exit records of immigrants. In order to stay and work in Thailand, some foreigners choose to go in and out of Thailand every three months to get new visas. I want to ask, I will go in and out of Thailand every three months. Is this a tour? Visiting relatives? I spend most of my time in Thailand, so where does my income come from? Don't you miss home? If we can't give a reasonable explanation, we have the right to suspect that the immigrant has the possibility of working in Thailand.

In fact, if you like to stay in Thailand, you are very welcome. I just hope that everyone will stay in Thailand in the right way, instead of using Thai laws. Because according to Thai laws, foreigners set up companies in Thailand, and the company capital is 20000000, so you can invite 1 foreigner and 4 Thais. Or if the fund is 4 million, you can invite two foreigners and eight Thais. But we don't require every industry to strictly abide by this regulation. For example, tourism companies pay attention to language communication, but Thais are not competent. We will relax the restrictions, not limited to the probability of having to press 1:4. The compulsory requirement is to ensure that Thais have jobs and the country has income first.

As for what policies will be added in the future, it is uncertain for the time being, mainly depending on the real-time situation. However, we will strengthen the inspection of foreigners living in Thailand. For example, we have begun to require that all apartments or residences are foreigners, and they need to register and declare to the immigration bureau. In fact, this rule has always existed. Previously, foreigners living in Thailand were not registered because the facilities of the Immigration Bureau were not advanced enough. But now, the Immigration Bureau has invested tens of millions of baht to upgrade various equipment. I hope that in the next four or five years, the Immigration Bureau will be more developed and advanced, and it will be convenient for people of all countries to serve.
