Following my wife to drive the Escape around the country, including Hulin Fortress and Treasure Island!
Five years have passed since 2014. In these five years, my husband and I have taken eight long-distance self-driving trips, covering a distance of 110,000 kilometers. Although I have not completed my plan, I have traveled a lot. throughout most of the motherland. People often say, "When God closes a door, he opens a window." This sentence is particularly suitable for me. I am disabled and cannot walk like ordinary people. I cannot keep up with the walking speed of ordinary people and cannot keep up with the tour groups. The pace is slow, so you can’t go with a tour group. But I like traveling very much and am eager to travel around the country. I have made a vow long ago that I will travel to the great rivers and mountains of the motherland! The only way to realize this wish is to rely on the brightest window God has given me, which should not be said to be my sun! She is my first wife. I like traveling, mountains, seas, vast grasslands, beautiful lakes, and lush woods! I like climbing up the mountain step by step, and going down the mountain step by step. Although very tired! But every step brings a different perspective, a different scenery, and a different freshness. The unknown and freshness are sources of motivation. Also, when I’m tired, I can sit anywhere and use the steps as a chair to take a rest. Climbing up and down again, suffering and happiness are connected to each other. I don't like the old streets of the ancient city, they are full of commercial noise! I don't like temples and monasteries. I shouldn't bear the bad fate of my previous life. I don't like the endless flat road, because it can't hide any suspense. I can't walk very far with crutches. When I'm tired from walking, I don't even have a place to rest. It's not as convenient as walking on the steps! I would like to walk into my dreams again and again on those steps. Reach the other side of the soul. 20150512 Our family once bought a van. It was an elf wearing a blue top and a white skirt, the Wuling Light van. I thought that due to physical and time constraints, I left the driving to my wife. It was that little blue elf that allowed my wife to develop excellent driving skills with a 250,000-kilometer journey without major repairs. After retirement, in order to fulfill my wish to travel across the country, we bought a red Ford Escape, and we called her "Red Girl". My wife drove it and took me on a nationwide tour!
A curtain is installed on the car window to block the outside light during night rest.

Now I will publish the travel notes of my ninth trip in units of days. Because I know that making travel notes is very time-consuming, so in my travel notes I focus on explaining whether the path I took is right or wrong, and how to get around the scenic spots. , the approximate time it takes is to try my best to introduce the information I have already mastered, so as to facilitate the travel of readers of my travel notes.
Today is September 16, 2019. This is the Xingkai service area on the Jihu Expressway.
We camped here yesterday. We were the only car the whole night, and not even a passing car stopped here after dark.
The good thing is that there are street lights here at night. There were only two cars passing by this morning.
Only an old couple serve in the entire service area, cleaning and selling some snacks. This boss has too much time, so he found a way to play slingshot for fun. He used special clay balls bought online, which were 7 mm in size. The ones that had been burned looked like porcelain balls and were colored. He heard that I had a slingshot and he gave me a handful of bullets. We threw a can on the ground fifteen meters away as a target. Unfortunately, my accuracy was far worse than his. I hit one or two out of ten shots, and all of them hit.
This is our car, a "red girl" dressed in dust.
My wife bought a bottle of pickled chive flowers from the boss here. It costs ten yuan a bottle and it tastes good.
After breakfast, I said goodbye to the boss who loved to shoot slingshots.
Next we go to Hulin.
After running for an hour, it’s time to get off the highway.
Hulin Toll Station.
This is the end of the Jihu Expressway.
A road goes straight through.
Turn left from here.
This is the ruins of Hulin Fortress.
Go in through a tree-lined avenue.
The distance from the service area to here is 16 kilometers.
The parking lot is quite large and there are not many tourists.
The site is located 1.2km north of Hutou Town. It is an independent hill with an altitude of 100.7m, 0.85km away from the Wusuli River. A "Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit" sign stone is erected at the east entrance of the site, 100 meters from the entrance. About 50m to the west is the "Tiger Head Liberation Memorial Tower" built by the former Soviet Red Army in August 1945. The Hudongshan Fortress site is relatively well preserved and protected. In 1977, the Hulin County Government allocated special funds to clean up and strengthen the north-south passage to make it open to the public. In 1995, the Hulin City Cultural Management Office conducted a detailed survey of it. , clean up, 400m of thoroughfare was cleared, and more than 300 war relics were excavated.
There is the Hulin Fortress Museum.
It's free here.

Introduction to Hulin Fortress.
This is a map of the underground fortifications of the main positions of Hudong Mountain.
It starts from Huoshi Mountain in the west, reaches the Ussuri River in the east, faces Russia's Iman across the bank, starts from Bianlianzi Mountain in the south, and reaches Hubei Mountain in the north. The central area is 12 kilometers wide in front and 6 kilometers deep. Within a radius of tens of kilometers, the army has more than ten fortresses of different sizes. Menghu Mountain is the main position, Hudong Mountain and Hubei Mountain are its two flanks and forward positions, forming a pincer shape with the north and south lines in a guard formation. The two positions of Huxiao Mountain and Huxiao Mountain are located to the west of the main position of Menghu Mountain and are the second line positions behind Menghu Mountain.
The Japanese Kwantung Army spent hundreds of millions and requisitioned more than 100,000 laborers to build such a large-scale military project, which took six years (started in 1934 and completed in 1939). During the construction of the fortress, countless Chinese laborers and prisoners of war were brutally enslaved and killed. It can be said that the fortress was built with the piles of bones of Chinese laborers and prisoners of war.
How many Chinese laborers were forced to build Tiger Head Fortress, and how many were tortured to death or shot, because the construction of Tiger Head Fortress was carried out in secret at that time, and the Japanese army wanted to protect the military. Secretly, the execution of Chinese laborers was also carried out in secret, and it is difficult to estimate the exact number. However, according to Japanese data, at least 12,000 Chinese workers were forced into labor during the six-year period. Except for a few who escaped by chance, the vast majority of them ended up being either tortured to death or secretly executed.
A teacher who never forgets the past and the future. What follows is the process of the Soviet Red Army’s actions to eliminate the Japanese army in the Northeast. The gloomy and gloomy bunker of Guanhulin Fortress makes it difficult to recall the past. The heinous crimes committed by the Japanese invaders have been passed down from generation to generation.
Keep history in mind and remember that the poor and weak will be beaten. We must adhere to the path of reform and opening up to enrich the people and strengthen the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, so that the Chinese nation will always stand at the forefront of the world.
You can enter the bunker from the museum.

The Hutou Fortress is 12 kilometers wide in front and 30 kilometers wide in depth. It is composed of 5 hilltop positions. The underground transportation trenches of each fortress are winding for dozens of kilometers, and the positions can be connected. In order to build it into a fortress that could operate independently for half a year without being breached, the Japanese army invested hundreds of millions of yuan, and the entire project lasted about 6 years. But none of this could stop the powerful offensive of the Soviet Red Army's artillery, aircraft, and tanks. The martyrs of the Soviet Volunteer Air Force who gave their lives in support of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan and the martyrs of the Soviet Red Army who liberated Northeast China will be immortal!
This is the guide map of Hutou Scenic Area. We are now at the Tiger Head Fortress Museum, and we will wait a while to see the greatest tiger in the world.
On this side of the square is a group of statues. Under the statues are the oaths of Communist Party members to join the party.
This is the statue of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Heroes. The only regret is that the designer of this statue made a mistake. There is a problem with the orientation of the statue and it is a bit exposed, which is not good for tourists to take pictures.
Let’s go and see the No. 1 Tiger in the World.
Look back and take a look at this unforgettable place.
Turn left and follow the navigation.
This is Hutou Town.
The best tiger in the world has arrived.
Tickets are 20.
It is all welded with copper plates, weighs 30.4 tons, is 16 meters high and 25 meters long, and costs more than 2 million yuan. I don’t know when I will get my money back.
That is the number one tiger in the world.
How mighty!
First place, Zi Mouse.
Second place, ugly cow.
It doesn't mean ugly, "ugly" is the name of time in ancient times. It means between 1 o'clock and 3 o'clock in the middle of the night.
The third Ming Dynasty, the little brother, Yin Hu.
Fourth place. Rabbit.
Fifth place, Chen Long.
The sixth place is a snake.
Seventh place, Wu Ma. Noon 11pm to 1pm. Three quarters past noon was the time for killing people in ancient times.
Eighth place, Weiyang.
Ninth place, Shen Monkey.
Tenth place, unitary chicken.
The eleventh place, the Xu dog.
Twelfth place, Hai Pig, the big fat pig ranks last among the twelve zodiac signs.
The best tiger in the world came out and came to a restaurant in the town.
I said I wanted to try fish from the Wusuli River here, but when I asked, I found that the average carp costs 50 yuan per pound. Raw carp on the market in Zhengzhou only costs sixty-seven yuan a pound, even including the processing fee, it doesn’t cost that much! It's said to be wild river fish here, but that's not necessarily true, forget it. It doesn’t matter if it’s aquatic, let’s have some shrimp. This restaurant is really bad. When you serve stir-fried dishes with meat, you can only see the vegetables but no meat. Fortunately, the boss wasn't too bad and he added some more slices of meat. I hope the boss will stop it in the future!
Leave immediately after lunch to visit Zhenbao Island.
Follow the sign and turn right.
Passing by this Oriental Wetland Park.
There is also Shihai Park, which I like, but I don’t know much about it.
Let’s go, you will see the road sign Zhenbao Island is still two kilometers away.
It’s just ahead. But now the island is closed and tourists are not allowed to go up.
Now that you are here, let’s leave a souvenir.
Backed by the Wusuli River.
On the other side is Zhenbao Island.
Red is China and blue is the Soviet Union at that time. In March 1969, a war broke out between China and the Soviet Union over the island. According to international rules, when a river is used as a national boundary, the main channel of the river should be used as the dividing line. Zhenbao Island is relatively close to us. The main channel is on the east side of the island, so Zhenbao Island should belong to China. If the Soviet Union wanted to invade Zhenbao Island, it would be an invasion of China. The Chinese People's Liberation Army launched a heroic counterattack and won. It also captured the Soviet Union's then-advanced T-----62 tanks. Friends who are interested can search the battle process online.
People of our age have personally experienced the Battle of Zhenbao Island. Although it is thousands of kilometers away, it affects the hearts of the people across the country. Every day after get off work, we are waiting for the leaders to hold a meeting to announce the daily battle process to everyone. Very inspiring and will never be forgotten! So I ran over to take a look even though I knew I couldn't get there. Of course there are countless people like me. The war on Zhenbao Island started in the harsh winter, and they fought against the Northern Yi tenaciously. Victory is hard-won, who dares to doubt it again!
That's the cruise ship dock. It is also closed now because of the floods this year. I heard that Heixiazi Island was flooded. That is my travel goal!
The saying "the first victory in a century, the victory of one island" is very good. We have never won a victory in any foreign war in the history of Northeast China. The corrupt government of the Manchu Qing Dynasty was defeated again and again, and ceded 1.61 million square kilometers of territory to Russia, which made every Chinese feel resentful! Only this battle on Zhenbao Island completely defeated the powerful Soviet Union. He let out a small breath of disgust.
Behind the monument is a tribute to the Battle of Zhenbao Island.
This stone tablet records another incident that now seems to be a trivial event not worth mentioning. But it was a bit difficult at the time. In 2000, high-voltage power was supplied to Zhenbao Island.
Interestingly, these trees block the road in a fan shape, but they must not be touched because they are the defenders of the river embankment.
Go through the trees to get here.
It’s hard to say whether these small boats are for sightseeing, maybe they are patrol boats. Well, that’s it for the tour of Zhenbao Island.
After leaving Zhenbao Island, we went to Shuangyashan Chidori Lake as planned.
This is leaving the Hulin area. We are about to enter Raohe County.
It is 34 kilometers away from Raohe County.
This place is far from the highway, so we all take national highways or county roads.
Just follow the navigation, no matter the southeast or northwest.
A sunset blocks the front.
Encountered a broken down truck on the road.
At 17:30 we arrived at Qiandori Lake in Hongqiling.
It is 134 kilometers away from Zhenbao Island. We ran for three hours.
Only when I came here did I know that this place was also closed due to floods. You see the flood has covered the plank road.
Qiandiao Lake Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction located in the Hongqiling Farm in the eastern part of the Heilongjiang Reclamation Area, 300 kilometers away from the urban area. Chidori Lake Wetland Park is built on Chidori Lake Wetland. It has a central square, a flower garden area, a comprehensive club integrating catering, accommodation and entertainment - Fengqing Pavilion, a multi-functional picking garden that highlights the characteristics of Beidahuang, and a viewing area. Taiwan, Torii, Diaoyutai, cruise ship pier, Liulin Island, plank road pier and other facilities. In 2002, it was designated as a national natural ecological reserve, and in 2011, it was rated as one of the most beautiful wetlands in the country.
Just look at this lake.
This year is really not the right time to come out. Floods are everywhere in the Northeast. And the floods will not recede for a long time.
Looking from the left, this is due west.
There are no burning clouds, just a golden horizon.
There is another man over there packing his fishing gear.
Leave the silhouette.
Don’t you understand this is not Chidori Lake? Why is Five Star Lake engraved on this stone tablet?
Let’s go, get on the highway and find a service area to camp.
Take the Jianji Expressway from Chidori Lake Toll Station.
After running 28 kilometers, we arrived at the Daxing service area.
We came to this Daxing service area. This service area is even worse, there is not even a street light. There is a couple who manage the place. They said that there is no electricity outside, so they can relieve themselves at night and the bathroom will be opened at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning. well! Encountered another dark service area.
You can’t ask for it! Finished on 20200313
