What are the characteristics of Corcos Island Ocean Park?

Corcos Island Ocean Park is 550 kilometers away from Costa Rica's Pacific coast, and it is the only island with tropical rain forest in the tropical eastern Pacific. It is the closest countercurrent contact point to the north equator and the interaction point between the island and the surrounding marine ecosystem, thus making this area an ideal laboratory for studying biological processes. The underwater world of nature park is very famous because it attracts many divers, who think it is the best place to watch marine life in the world, such as sharks, rays, tuna and dolphins. Corcos Island is located in the center of Corcos's volcanic mountains. It is the only huge rock layer exposed from the sea surface in the submarine volcanic group below 3000 meters. The natural heritage of Corcos Island is managed by the corresponding national parks and nature reserves. These protective measures have saved many mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, freshwater and saltwater fish and a large number of rare plants from extinction. In addition, the Costa Rican authorities have well protected various natural environments, such as deciduous forests, mangrove swamps, herb swamps and wetlands.
