Liuye Lake is a national AAAA tourist scenic spot and a national water conservancy scenic spot.

Located in the northeast of the ancient city of Changde, Liuye Lake is the largest eco-city tourism and leisure resort in Hunan Province, which integrates mountains, water and city. It is a provincial-level tourist resort directly led by Changde Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and is known as "the back garden of Changsha and the sister flower of Zhangjiajie".

The overall planning area of Liuye Lake is 138.8 square kilometers, of which the water area is 2 1.8 square kilometers. It is one of the largest urban lakes in China at present. The basic orientation of the resort is a city paradise for leisure and vacation, and the special orientation is an international stage for water sports. The development of the resort takes the natural scenery as the tourism carrier, relies on the prosperous Changde urban area and the historic Jingchu Huxiang culture, and takes tourism, vacation, leisure and water sports as the breakthrough point to create a tourist resort with modern functions such as urban paradise, international garden and international stadium. The planning and construction are divided into seven areas, namely, water tourism area, Xianrendong natural scenic area, Baiheshan bird nature reserve, grasshopper-dissolved pastoral scenic area, Daijiagang core area, Huashan natural scenic area and Zhantianhu natural scenic area.

Liuye Lake is a big lake with water and sky. Its water area is about three times that of Hangzhou West Lake, and it has rich landscape forms such as lakes, ponds, ponds, harbors and swings. The water in Liuye Lake is very clean, the transparency can reach 200 cm, the water quality is basically maintained at about Class II, and the cleanliness is the highest among urban lakes in China. Liuye Lake has a complete lake swamp wetland ecosystem and rich biological resources. There are naturally preserved mountain vegetation ecosystems, including evergreen, pine, willow, camphor, Nitraria, etc. 1300, including 33 rare plants; There are many kinds of wild flower resources, including rhododendron, Lycoris radiata, wild lily, chrysanthemum, orchid and so on. Liuye Lake has a long history, and it is one of the earliest areas in China that entered the Neolithic Age. A large number of ancient cultural sites and their unearthed cultural relics are the testimony of ancient splendid culture, including Liang Palace, Baihe Temple, Thanksgiving View, Taihe View, Mosque, Yingyin Garden, Tower and other sites. There are fairy cave, Moon Mountain, rotten boat state, Wu Jianping, Qiliqiao and other place names, and there are beautiful and moving legends such as Houyi shooting the sun and bangs chopping firewood. Famous historical poets and literary giants such as Qu Yuan, Liu Yuxi, Li Bai, Meng Haoran, Liu Yuxi, Ceng Gong, Huang Tingjian and Ding Ling once wrote poems and played in the water here. Yang Yao, the leader of the peasant uprising in the Song Dynasty, Yang Sichang, a cabinet official and minister of the Ministry of War in the late Ming Dynasty, and Kun Can, a great painter in the Qing Dynasty, were all born on the shores of Liu Ye Lake. Throughout the ages, people have regarded this place as a treasure trove of feng shui.

Changde Liuye Lake Tourist Resort is located in the northeast of Changde Ancient City, with Sun Mountain in the north and Shuiyuan in the south. It is the intersection of tourist hotlines in Changsha, Nanyue, Yueyang, Shaoshan and Zhangjiajie, and has become a paradise for Changde citizens' leisure and holiday, and a tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. /kloc-0 was approved as a provincial-level tourist resort by Hunan provincial people's government in June, 1994, and was approved as the first batch of AAA-level tourist attractions in China in April, 2006.
