Personal recommendation:

Maijishan Grottoes, located in the southeast of Tianshui, are named after the shape of the mountain like a pile of wheat. Grottoes were built more than 1500 years ago, and most of them were cut on cliffs 20 to 80 meters high. These cliffs are layered like honeycombs. There is a plank road between the caves to climb to the top of the mountain.

The statues in Maijishan Grottoes are similar to life-size, some are low-browed, some are handsome and lively, and their shapes are lifelike, so they are called "Oriental Sculpture Hall". Wushan near Tianshui and Lashao Temple Grottoes. The relief Buddha on the cliff is about 60 meters high, which is particularly majestic from a distance.

Maijishan Cave has been built into a unique "cliff pavilion". Located at the height of15m above the head of the East Cliff Clay Sculpture Buddha, Qige Pavilion is a typical cliff pavilion building with China style, which was built on a cliff more than 50 meters above the ground and excavated in the middle of the 6th century. Although Maijishan Grottoes are mainly clay sculptures, there are also a certain number of stone carvings and murals. Maijishan Grottoes are listed as national key cultural relics protection units, and a 1.300-meter aerial plank road has been built and repaired, enabling tourists to climb the grottoes smoothly.

Xi gan emperor's hometown

Tianshui is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese nation and Chinese civilization. Fuxi and Nu Wa, ancestors of human beings, were born in Tianshui, so Tianshui is also known as "the hometown of Huang Xi" and "the hometown of dragons". Fuxi was the first in Huang San, the first among the hundred kings and the first king in China. Every year, on the 15th of the first lunar month and 13th of May (the legendary dragon's birthday), Tianshui will hold a grand ceremony, starting from 1995 and expanding it into Tianshui Fuxi Cultural Festival.

The existing Fuxi Temple, also known as Tai Hao Palace, is located in Xiguan of the urban area, which is called Renzu Temple locally. Its architecture is solemn, simple and magnificent, and it is a holy place for Chinese at home and abroad to seek roots and worship their ancestors.
