The development history of Operation CD-ROM

The initiating team of "Operation CD" is not a public welfare organization, and its members come from different industries such as finance, advertising, and insurance. They use IN_33 to call this team.

In early January 2013, three members of IN_33 came up with the idea of ????"Start from me, there will be no leftovers today", and many people responded. On January 10th, I propose to set up a "Compact Disc Festival". "CD" became the code name.

In addition to posting on Weibo, the members decided to personally deliver leaflets and posters to various restaurants in the streets.

On the 15th, a team of nearly 30 people divided Beijing into 12 areas, with 2-3 people responsible for one of the areas. The single page is delivered to the hotel's cashier, and the waiter distributes it to the diners. The poster is posted on the glass in the hotel lobby and in the corridor. In the afternoon of the same day, another 50,000 copies of the leaflets were printed and delivered to some gas stations in the evening. These leaflets will be distributed to various small stations with the gas station's logistics vehicles the next day.

On the 16th, the launch ceremony of the "Compact Disc Festival" was held in a restaurant. Set up exhibition boards to inspire passers-by; communicate and interact with diners. Many guests, especially middle-aged and elderly people, responded enthusiastically.

Volunteers from public welfare organizations encourage citizens to pack leftovers when dining in restaurants and leave them on "CD-ROMs" to create a good trend of saving food among everyone. They will continue to carry out this charity event in different cities. The National Tourism Administration calls on the catering industry to establish a "frugal consumption reminder system". In the future, restaurants will provide half-portion meal services.

The latest statistics show that from 2007 to 2008, China’s food protein waste in catering alone reached 8 million tons, equivalent to the annual needs of 260 million people; 3 million tons of fat was wasted, equivalent to 1.3 One billion people need it every year.

The Ministry of Commerce stated that it is necessary to vigorously develop catering service models such as online ordering, semi-finished meals, and takeaway fast food. At the same time, it is necessary to clean up and regulate additional charges such as minimum consumption, private room fees, and reduce unreasonable catering expenditures.

It is worth advocating and promoting that companies mark the portions of ingredients on their menus, indicate the recommended number of consumers in meal registration standards, and proactively provide services such as half-portion or half-portion meals.

It is necessary to improve the system so that official consumption does not dare to be wasted, and the social atmosphere, institutional system and industry structure of "do not want to waste, do not want to waste, cannot waste and dare not waste" are formed. Waste on the tip of the tongue can be effectively curbed. In order to reduce "waste on the tip of the tongue", many restaurants in Beijing have launched the "CD-ROM Action" within the industry, providing customers with services such as "half portions", "small portions", "hot dish platters", free packaging and other services to encourage customers to Take away the uneaten leftovers. The price is determined according to the principle of "half price for half portion, appropriate price for small portions". In addition, some restaurants charge for lunch boxes or plastic bags when packing. This time, they propose to provide free packing services without charging. They must also use environmentally friendly packaging and do not provide disposable wooden chopsticks and ultra-thin plastic bags.

The Jiangsu Provincial Catering Industry Association launched a proposal requesting enterprises in the province to participate in the event.
